Has everyone just given up?

Because in the past 10 games that I've played, 6 of them have featured someone on my team going afk after raging to us in chat. My guess is they have no desire to win and the only thing that really makes them happy is getting their way.

Is this true for anyone else? It really feels like a good portion of the League population has given up completely. Try as I might, it's pretty fucking difficult to win a 4v5. When the majority of my games nowadays are made up of these, I'm starting to understand why people are quitting League so much.

Sounds to me more like Riot have given up on trying to actually stop people from doing that since Lyte left.

Not enough punishments for going AFK in ranked, not enough information and feedback to stop players from thinking that it's acceptable in the first place, and still no compensation for the people who lose LP because of these toxic players.

Try playing csgo and you'll realize that there is still a great deal of competitive integrity in the ranked ladder of LoL. The problem is that people are probably preoccupied with worlds. midterms are rolling around, and it is the end of the season. People are either in the tier they want to be in and dont care about a few odd losses since it doesnt matter anymore, or theyre just shy of the tier they want to be in and rage when they lose even the slightest advantage because they don't have much time left to climb

Honestly it's not far from the truth. Why try anymore ? Win 5-8 games in a ROW just to get in promo then having to win 2-3 games just to get back to 0 lp by moving up 1 division. It's too much of a struggle and players don't see much of a reason to try or play anymore.
AFK players leave because there is a 0% chance of any punishment. Oh sorry here they are A. Banned for a day. THE HORROR B. Wait 5 mins. NO, just enough time for kids to twerk and take selfies NO NOOOOO.

Some players rage because just like every game and generation that comes with games, it involves 5 year kids who play but really just suck.
This will most likely be my last year playing this game mainly because I fell like it has 0 quality of enjoyment and no real rewards other than you win or you lose that's it.
