is veigar a bad idea to OTP?

I'm carrying extremely hard as him in bronze 1. Bronze players are very easy to steamroll as veigar. I'm close to getting silver 5..

However, he is pretty immobile and squishy ofc. Maybe I should switch to another mid champion and start the hard work of getting good at them now while I'm still in bronze and I have relatively bad opponents I can practice against?

I like veigar but I'd be willing to start over again from scratch and learn a new champion if veigar truly doesn't have the potential to get me to gold.

If you like the champion, go for it. All that matters is if you enjoy playing that champion.

Well, the game is all about the laning phase now and veigar has always had a hard time in the laning phase. Picking veigar is basically conceding the laning phase in the hopes you can 1 shot people later. The problem with that is, laning phase is too important to just sac to the enemy and games aren't going long enough for veigar to get enough stacks to offset his weaknesses. Not to mention, adcs, junglers, tops, and mids are all doing a stupid amount of damage and the odds of them getting to you is really good and if they do, you're going to get 1 shot. So no, it's not a good idea.
