I don't understand this community and the balance

To me, it blatantly obvious that both the items and the runes are really unbalanced. I feel as though AP items are "left behind" and AD items are so broken its not even funny. Concerning runes, damage runes are everywhere but what we have for sustain and survivability is almost non-existent. I'm of the opinion it is generally not the champions who are the problem, though there are exception of course, its the items and the runes that push things overboard.

Riddle me this: If ADC-esque items where a lot more expensive and did not have any multiplicative effects like crit, would ADCs be a problem?

Riddle me this: If tank items worked against heavy burst but no sustained damage, would tanks be overpowered?

I ask these questions because is my conclusions are correct the reason we have not seen any changes of note, is because what the average player wants and what the LoL dev team wants is not the same thing.

Finally, what usually happens when I attempt to post a carefully thought out post concerning these topics its like people get so upset or so trolly, that rather than be part of conversation, they attempt to derail it so the whole point of the post gets completely thrown out. As far as I'm concerned, if you are allowing words posted on a forum to get you that fired up, to the point where you no longer want at counter-argument instead you want to just to silence the poster, you don't belong on the forums. If you allow your emotions to interfere with logical conversation that you must have the maturity of a 12-year old.

The fact that this happens so much is irritating to me.

Another question is:

Would adc roll be balance is they removed life stealing from the game?

We could go father and ask what is the power index of mobility. If 1 ap / ad and 1 mr/ ac are worth X amount of gold. What is mobility worth. OR is it just something certain champs have "extra"

After reading the comments I don't think you are going to get a well thought out balance discussion. A lot of the community thinks that the only way you can have value to a team is by being a damage threat. That is why we are so far up damage creek that even tanks are doing godly amounts of damage.

Why would we want tanks to be unkillable, when they can have "damage". If we make them unkillable they would be "broken" because "I can't kill them". That is pretty much the only argument that you will get.

Personally I want to go back to the S2 unkillables where you ignored them while they ignored you. Sure once in awhile it drug out a game, or forced it to be ended by split pushing or better team fighting... but atleast I had a damn lane phase, I didn't feel like I died in .5 seconds, and micro-mechanics like kiting meant something.

Everyone was innately tankier, and adc's were allowed to build tank items (they are kinda trash right now with how nerfed they are compared to S1, making it currently not viable). Lower damage also allowed sustain to exist, and we didn't have to make burst be delayed. The counter to burst was to just build a tank item so you couldn't be one shot... But we took that away, because building one tank item and being immune to 100-0 damage is "broken". Now instead we just delay burst because its so broken that even tank items can't stop it.

I think the issue is that you can only balance for one or the other. Burst, or survive-ability. If you allow burst to exist, you can't have surviveability, and if you have survive-ability you can't have burst. I personally think 60-0 or 70-0 can be healthy for burst, but not 100-0. If you allow 100-0 to exist then anyone that isn't that champion that can't 100-0 isn't viable. (Which is what we have right now)

Given the choice between nerfing a champion or nerfing an item, it is almost always better for the game to nerf the champion.

You're probably right, I don't know for sure. But I view it like a barbed arrow, it will hurt to nerf the items but in the long term it will mean a better change.

Because the same items and runes which are making strong champions overpowered are making weak champions barely viable. On top of that, the stronger items are allowing other non meta builds to be less terrible. While marksmen are overpowered with their currrent build, melee adc such as tryndamere and off meta builds such as ad Leblanc also rely on those items to not be terrible.

Given the choice between nerfing a champion or nerfing an item, it is almost always better for the game to nerf the champion.

Then you run the risk of the champion getting Sejuani'd if you nerf the champions when an item/rune is making them broken. Eventually some items will need to get nerfed like item 3147, if you just nerf the champions who are performing the best with it, you then risk nerfing them to the state where they can't really function without it and then when you nerf duskblade for example, they'll be terrible and just not worth playing.

Also they have no problem killing off-meta builds or playstyles if it'll help balance out that champion in their main roles or if they could balance an item/rune. Though it does hurt to lose a fun build or playstyle....I used to main Shyvana top lane for years, now she just feels weak top lane between all her changes, and the changes to all the other top laners items.

tanks would still be OP. Do u really think they only become broken after backing and buying x sh*t ??

And for u main point, i think the whole game is unbalanced (runes, items & champs).

OP how? Assassins and burst damage dealers can't kill tanks? yup. However, sustained damage that BOTH AP and AD carries can do depending on the champion would still kill tanks. Whats the point in going for durability items when you still die within the same 10 second window as every other champion? Right now, the game feels super faceroll because there is no defense to burst and as a result there is no tanks most of the time.

Examples of sustained AP: Karthus Anivia Ryze Cassiopeia Swain

Examples of sustained AD: Ashe Jinx MissFortune Lucian Aatrox

Dont excuse me for this, but... ITS BS !!!! In wich world u'll die in same 10 sec window as every other champ ?? to begin in wich world a squishy will stay alive longer than 3-5 sec against an assassin or a late game marksmen ???

Tanks are from being squishy and useless as u make sound.

Tanks don't fear MissFortune

If you changed ADC items like that, they'd be super shitty. Expensive and scale worse? Sounds like I'd just build other AD items.

You mean exactly what tanks are right now?
