I've heard a lot of mixed opinions on the new Sion, lets settle it once and for all here. Answer the poll and then comment with your opinion and an explanation of it. Please only leave meaningful responses, and lets keep it respectful.

This is mostly about gameplay and his strength, but if you have comments on the lore or visual aspects feel free to comment.

As a sheep, I have no opinion until he's olayed in the LCS.

Visuals are solid and the kit is satisfying. Haven't seen enough of it to comment on power but it doesn't seem grossly overpowered.

SIon used to be one of my favorite champs, but now I'm not sure about him.

I enjoy his new kit. While not super exciting, it certainly does keep with his theme of being a giant axe wielding barbarian guy. It has decent mechanics, keeps his old shield and health gain, his ult is fun to smash into people with even if it is just a super Rammus power ball and I like how people can hear it coming.

Then again, his passive is pretty weak. I like the idea, but unless you are right next to someone nearly dead you want to take to the grave with you, don't plan on getting kills with it. You will be cc'd, dodged or simply outrun with it pretty easily and never really get the chance to see any "glory in death". It needs something. Even Kog Maw can kill someone now and then with his, and Sion is far easier to get away.

His lore seems to largely keep to his old lore, which is fine and nice in the new era of boggling lore retcons. His visuals are pretty meh. He used to be, albeit a bit goofy, a big skeletal zombie giant. He actually looked undead with his skull face and bone arm, his weirdish green skin. Now he's just some big pale guy with glowing red eyes and some scars. Nice touch on the armor bolted on across his huge chest slice, but he's still just overall a pale barbarian guy with no hair. Nothing striking about his face, his Jarvan crown mouth thing is a neat idea but would be better if it were literally his lower jaw welded on, rather than just sitting on his neck. He doesn't convey undead to me now. More like a golem or something. His warmonger skin (now that its not a weird purple) actually looks better than the standard one, and his face shows his teeth and is more sunken and dead looking. Not a skeleton zombie yet, but a step in the right direction. As close as it will likely get due to Tencent reasons.

He seems overall ok and fun to play again. I just wish his passive wasn't so meh, and his visuals also meh. And the voice work, well, Arnold jokes aside, the old voice with its deep reverb kind of sound is better in my opinion than this new standard dark gritty guy. Just not real interesting.

Old Sion was a Melee ADC that gracefully moved into the tank position without the need of building tank items.

His previous Ult was amazing in the middle of team fights and it always felt satisfying to come out of the jungle, stun someone, then proceed to crit them while healing for an insane amount.

I want back old Sion.

Just to post a counter arguement to keep things going here, Sion now can generally fill that role. As jungle Sion i typically build spirit of the lizard elder, ravenous hydra, sometimes triforce, sometimes bork. Black cleaver once they start getting some armor, and usually i get frozen mallet to finish off, and i have 4000 health at full build. Asides from his ultimate he becomes a very high damage tank late game, as well as having strong base damages. I would also say he has a much higher skill cap now rather than a single targetable ability and 3 activations.

I don't care what Riot wants me to do. I'm building him Crit and I'll continue to do so until I master his new form.
