So the Nautilus changes

From the PBE:

Nautilus Titan's Wrath (W) damage while shielded decreased to 15/30/45/60/75 from 40/55/70/85/100 Riptide (E): Cooldown lowered to 6/5.5/5/4.5/4 from 10 at all ranks Mana cost lowered to 40/50/60/70/80 from 60/70/80/90/100 AP ratio lowered to .3 from .5 Slow duration lowered to 1.25 from 2 seconds

This might actually improve his jungling a little. The W damage is already useless enough in the first clear that being able to E twice as often might balance the W nerf. His ganks will be a lot stronger, since now you can get 2 E's off a lot of the time (especially if you save Q for when they flash). I like this, because a big part of why I used to play Naut jungle so much is that you can hold the laners in place for so long that your laner can follow up even if they made no attempt to set up the gank (and in soloq, you're lucky if they don't just keep farming half the time).

My issue is that these changes will actually murder Naut Support, which I main. You can't cheese people with your W anymore because it does so little damage at low levels, whereas before it was actually really good for trading. The reduced cooldown on E is useless because Naut isn't an all-in support, and he wants to wait for his Q/W to be up again to trade again regardless of the cooldown of E. E is even weaker because of the reduced slow duration.

If any Rioter sees this, please don't kill a perfectly healthy niche pick. If you want to buff jungle Naut, just have his shield take 50% reduced damage from monsters, and maybe buff the shield damage a little too.

Sincerely, a concerned Naut support main.

nautilus is now a top laner (called it), riptide at max CDR is a 2.4 second cooldown, and 4 at max level (6 at level 1). get that trinity force going and wreck face with those guaranteed double procs thanks to passive snare and E slow.

but why play naut support over say alistar? i mean you even put the word cheese in your post which tell me it is an utter gimmick

I did Naut support because I was already good with him from playing him jungle, and found it worked well for strange reasons. If you cycle through some junglers during champ select, the enemy team gets confused and won't know who's supporting. Then you get into lane and they have no idea how to play against you. Combined with the fact that his kit is basically Thresh with some damage at the early levels, it's pretty easy to win lane unless your adc is a potato. You'd be surprised how often I pick up doubles because they tunnel my adc instead of popping my shield. This is also entirely subjective, but in my experience he has very few hard matchups.

tldr: he has some advantages if you're already good at Naut, not worth the trouble otherwise.

I just hope the remove the decaying part of the slow, as that would make it a little better. If they don't then that's a pretty big nerf to support Nautilus, whom I enjoy playing a lot.
