Cancel a Match if There's a Disconnection Before the Match Starts.
Today I was going into the first match of my ranked promotion series, when suddenly, a city-wide power outage occurred. The match was just starting to load, it hadn't started yet. Literally, everyone was at 1% or 2% loaded. Hours later, when there was finally power, I log into my client and see that in addition to a leavebuster, my series was cancelled and I had lost 25 LP. That means I have to climb to 100 LP again, and then redo my series. For getting disconnected from a match that hadn't even started yet.
I was playing with my friends who live in the same city, at least three of us got disconnected at the exact same time. Two of the people on our team had to play without us, and obviously, this wasn't fair to them, nor to us. We couldn't have known the power would go out. Literally, five people got punished for something completely out of their control. You'd think if that happens, the match would get cancelled or something, but apparently not. They can cancel a guy's series for getting disconnected, but they can't cancel the actual match where he gets disconnected from?
Why can't they just stop the match and put the people back into queue? I can understand not doing it if the match had already started, but the match hadn't even loaded yet! I hate to point it out, but DotA 2 would have cancelled the match. Why can't League of Legends do the same?
