I agree that they would make a good VS skin set, .. but why not just have both?
The concept art you have here is colored like Solar Eclipse Leona, and I would assume that it would be Solar Eclipse Diana.
The color pallet for Lunar Eclipse Leona is actually really similar to Diana's default colors already.
If they were to make this a VS matchup, I would prefer to see Solar Eclipse Diana and Lunar Eclipse Leona.
Even from a thematic perspective this would make the most sense to me. During a lunar eclipse, the Earth is blocking the sunlight from the moon. From a theological perspective, the Sun is withholding it's power from the Moon. During a solar eclipse, the Moon is blocking the sunlight from the Earth. The Moon is taking power from the Sun.
I would still prefer to just see both get both skins.

It sounds to me like most people that are complaining want only one new Leona skin, and they want a Diana skin instead of the second Leona skin.
I would prefer to encourage Riot to release both skins for Leona now, then pressure them to release their counterparts for Diana later.

I just wish they stopped everyone's project and made the Diana counterparts and the VS event in like 1 month, but I know that is unrealistic.

They would have to start from point 0 if they wanted to make lunar eclipse Diana. It would literally take months to finish. Also Diana has a bunch of amazing skins so it's not like she is one of those ignored champions that get a skin every 5 years. And I'm not saying they shouldn't do lunar eclipse Diana or whatever but it just isn't as simple as this thread seems to imply.

Guys, i'm all for Diana getting skins for a VS event, but don't beg Riot to scrap the Lunar Eclipse Leona skin because of it. That's not fair for those like myself who LOVE both Solar and Lunar. Let Leona have her skins, then hope for Riot to give Diana skins later on. She recently got a skin regardless, the Bloodborn- I mean Dark Waters skin and now Leona's getting her Dark Soul- I mean Eclipse skins!

This isn't like "Peel off the skin, remove he shield, slap it on Diana". You would need to heavily change the skin down to the very core of the skin from particles to voice to the damn skeleton, considering it's a legendary.

Have some patience, especially since Diana recently got a skin (Dark Waters Diana) regardless of whether you like the skin or not. Diana is slated for a full VGU (visual and gameplay update), and will most likely get a very nice skin or two after the release of that.
Do not delay Leona's skins. The two do not need to be constantly entwined in lore. I didn't see this outrage when Diana got Blood Moon, Dark Waters, and other skins.

Everyone is acting like leona got two whole legendaries but she didn’t, They’re variants, not separate things. And besides Diana already got a skin this year while Leona’s been shadted two years in a row, Leona(and Leona) players deserve this. No one cried about how poorly Leona is treated when Diana got another skin before leona, so treat that the same way.

They couldn’t have given one to Diana, because they didn’t make two skins. They’d have had to have made another actual legendary, ie bring in a whole new voice actor, make an entirely new model, make new sound effects, new visual effects, new animations, and a completely new splash art.
The only thing different between the Leona variants is particle color, her sword is a little different, and some slight tweaks to her the crown and her hair. Everything else is the same.

Of those, the only thing different is the effect colors and slight tweaks to the art. Everything else is the same. It’s not two legendaries. It’s a variant, nothing more. Hell even buying one drastically reduces the price of the other. If that doesn’t show that they’re variants then there’s no hope you’ll understand that.
Diana doesn’t “deserve” this legendary. Diana has been getting consistent high quality skins, where as Leona has gone 2 years without one and only has one that changes effects. Stop saying Leona doesnt deserve anything and stop saying Diana deserves this. Leona has gone long enough to surely get her first legendary.
You act like they can just take it off Leona and slap it on Diana, when that’s laughably incorrect. They’d have to remodel everything, get entirely new sounds, hire a voice actress, make new animations, everything. Where as they can tweak a few things and give Leona fans a nice little bonus, that’s all it is. · Thats the whole point of skins, giving the champions something diferent, Just so you know both maokai and zyra have fire skins and anivia too. we got ice brand and ice annie. We even got a noxus Poppy or Mecha Aurelion sol (do you think a Godlike dragon as big as a galaxy is something that could be made out of metal by some humans?)
· Why do you even want another moon based diana skin anyways, she alredy has 4, its boring and repetitive. Blood MOON diana, LUNAR goddess Diana, Classic Diana (that its obviosly moon themed) and Dark Valkyrie Diana (that its just a darker version of the classic one).
· Diana only has a non-moon themed skin; we need more of those: Forest Diana, Robot Diana, Dinosaur Diana, Train driver Diana, whatever. We dont need Moon Diana #5. At least the dudes asking for Sun Diana have a point.. a stupid point because that would be too similar to the fire one but still...
· Recoloring an alredy existing Leona skin into purple its obviosly way easier than designing a whole new skin for Diana for an alredy overused theme on her.

Nobody cares its an overused theme on Diana, any player that plays Diana would have welcomed this skin over any other.
Also, they can make skins that fit her really well like the one they made for Leona but shouldve made for Diana. And can also pick her for another skin line that is coming out soon. Since Ahri, Jhin and MF can have 3.4 trillion skins per minute, why cant Diana have 2 in 1 year?

Not gonna change at this point. Best hope now is to plead for Diana to one day get it IN ADDITION to the current Leona ones.

Diana and Leona are not enemies, infact Leona wants to cooperate with Diana because solar and lunar are two sides of the same coin.
I still want to see a Solar Eclipse Diana skin, but making it into a VS event won't make sense.

We have loved Diana versus Leona before the versus even existed. I get Riot has become more and more about money, so you'd think they'd make even more skins and a versus event for Leona and Diana to milk more money out of it. The Leona skin is very high quality, but disappointing that Diana isn't even considered.

Leona's last skin was Barbeque in 2016, which is a 750 skin. Leona deserves a little solo love.
Anyway it just doesnt make sense logistically, Riot would have to build a 1820 skin from the ground up, on top of building a ton more lore, icons, borders, loot, etc. on top of the VS. event im sure thats already underway.
Also VS. events are between champs in the same role. Yas and Riven are both hypermobile AD skirmishers. Garen and Darius are both immobile juggernauts. Leona vs. Diana doesnt work.
