For only having Skillshots in his kit.
These days Ezreal would be considered a boring unintuitive concept, because all of his skills are so straight forward.
Nice way to see how the game changed... to the good, I have to say, cause Ezreal IS kinda boring.

ezreal in 2010 was the HARDER champion in the game
not only because he had 3 skillshot, but becaue he was a godamn burden of knowledge champs. His W had healing+attack speed buff+ attack speed debuff+damage. That made 4 situations you had to consider to use your W and you could heal yourself by teleporting on your W.
ezreal is my favorite champs, i stopped playing him not because he was boring but because i can't stand having 3 spells as AD ezreal while the other have 4. the only situation where i can use my W is when i E in that's nothing compared to before. i find AP ezreal fun in late game but his early game is boring with no damage. i just hope that riot realise that they removed his attack speed debuff when the problem was the width+ the damage, they nerfed all 3....
shark music1 votesI think Riot needs to do some major, major overhauling on marksmen. They are almost all incredibly boring to play. Corki and Graves are alright, and Kindred actually has interesting powers that are fun to use, but the rest of the markspeople are like a showcase of "things that kind of sounded fun six years ago".

Ez is the second most picked ADC at the Plat+ level.
I swear Ezreal mains can be as bad as Sona mains when it comes to complaining about their champ. They could be honest to God the most contested pick in the game and you people would still be clamoring for buffs.

Give the next mage a line skillshot they waveclear with, I don't mind. It's standard because its useful and has healthy play patterns.

The more mobility and skillshots and the less abilities with annoying cast & channel times, the more fun the champion is.
I don't know how you could say Ezreal is boring. Of all the AD Carries, Ezreal is on the less-boring side of things.

You must have not seen a decent cait player. Q does incredible poke in lane. traps are used in brush or as a combo with cc that activates your head shot ability. Her R is really strong for champs that try to escape. Her net ability is great for positioning and ccing in fights. You can't expect all ADCs to be like fucking kalista do you? No thank you.
