to everyone that says Ekko is incredibly op...

play a match as him. actually, no, play 5 just to be sure. I can almost guarantee you wont think he needs any more nerf than a slight ult dmg reduction. he is honestly one of the most difficult champs ive ever played, if not the most difficult. his q is slow and ridiculously easy to dodge, his w is even more so, his e is pretty short ranged and 99% of the time you are going to know he's trying to go in, and his ult is actually really easy to mess up, and very easy to avoid if you just watch the ghost. he's hyper squishy and has long cooldowns. I would say that he's easier to play against than a Katarina, and harder to play as.

did you read the post? he's not overpowered, he just has high potential for assassinations. he has fairly long cooldowns and abilities that are easy to dodge on top of being really squishy. if he's op then Katarina is literally an instawin. she's just as powerful, easier to play as, and harder to play against. in fact, she actually has far more damage potential.

She might have more damage potential, but it's only with one go. If a kat messes up, she's basically dead. She can also be cc'd out of her ult. Nor does she get a second chance that does damage and heals her. Unlike ekko, kat doesn't do sustained dmg, she has to all in, or poke and run. The justifications to how op ekko is right now is totally mediocre. Ban rates say it all.

I Main Swain1 votes

actually, if she messes up she can leap out (assuming that she didn't use it or got a kill/assist). ekko has the same problem anyways. he's really vulnerable to cc, burst, and only really gets 1 go unless he wants to save his ult to disengage which would remove most of his teamfight damage. ekko also doesn't really do sustained damage, he bursts. that's why hes an assassin. his abilities are on fairly long cooldown so all he can really do is aa, same as her. also, ban rates say literally nothing. everybody bans new champions when they come out, by that logic bard needs a massive nerf.

Ban rates are what people think, not what actually is.

agree. much up votes

If they nerf his shield I'll by happy, late game shield that covers more than 25% of his HP... he can out trade any late game mage when that shield is up.

I Main Swain2 votes

mmmm, I don't think 25% is really too much considering it only lasts a couple seconds. it actually shields him for more than that though. I wish they would decrease the shield amount but increase the duration.

Hard to play is not a reason.

I Main Swain1 votes

easy to deal with is

EffectFX2 votes

You could make that argument for any champion honestly.

they can be dealt with, not easily though. especially not as easily as ekko. honestly, if an ekko makes a good play with his w or e or ult, 90% of the time he definitely deserved it.

EffectFX1 votes

They can in the correct circumstance (nevermind you listed several champions that are very easily dealt with) throwing out randoms doesn't prove or disprove whether or not ekko has too much in his kit.

I Main Swain1 votes

I was throwing them out to disprove that anyone can be easily dealt with often times. there are many champions, especially tanks, that take a LOT to be dealt with. the ekko argument is separate, but I think he doesn't have too much in his kit because all of it has clear counterplay.

EffectFX1 votes

Clear counterplay doesn't mean a championc can't be too strong and doesn't need nerfs. For example a AOE 2.25 second stun on a level 1 non-ultimate ability is completely absurd. Yes you can avoid it, but being forced to avoid something isn't necessarily a bad thing for ekko because it allows him to control and predict the movements of his enemies because they have no choice but to avoid his stun.

I Main Swain1 votes

I do agree that the stun should scale up (didn't realize it was flat time at all ranks), avoiding it really doesn't control your movement that much unless the only path you would take is now blocked (going through the jungle and he's right behind you or something). and tbh, you could say that about any skill shot ability on any champ. anyone can use a skill shot to herd people, although honestly ekko has a hard time of that because they don't even see where the stun is going to go until the last second or so. I just don't see how he is considered op even though he really isn't any stronger than kat

he suffers in todays tank meta.

i dont know about his stats ratios etc. but i do know in my last game he would jump into a team fight take out about 2 champs deal about 70 to 80% of the total damage to my team with in a few seconds to me thats op... too much AoE burst.

I Main Swain2 votes

was he fed? was it late game? if answered yes for either question, that would be why. every assassin has high scalings and thusly deals a ton of damage once they get deep into their build. now as I said earlier, I do agree that his ult doesn't need a ratio quite that high, but he isn't nearly the mega op champ that everyone seems to think he is.

arc951 votes

ya...hes op no arguing that but people are making him sound like hes godtier of op champs <---- hes not

but he is still obnoxious... also he ended up really fed but every game ive played against him he was really strong through all phases of the game and by late game his burst is so high that he more or less annihilates your entire team

I Main Swain1 votes

I give it a month or so before people start to finally figure out how to deal with him, it really isn't actually that hard. you can usually tell when and where he will q, and it's fairly easy to dodge (at the very least you shouldn't be getting hit when it comes back if you walk to the side). his w is pretty easy to dodge as well. in fact, usually you wont even need to dodge because the time between cast and hit is so ridiculously long his e has a pretty short range and you can almost always see it coming (the aa empowerment/dash also only lasts a couple seconds, so if you just back off briefly you can make him waste it). as for his ult, just watch the ghost.

arc951 votes

ya i've laned against him twice i won lane really hard once and lost once, hes like Katarina Leblanc if you play smart you can handle them but if if you think gg op champ and give up they're gonna rip you apart... his strength is really in his late game he is just has way to mobile with such massive AP ratios on AoE abilities(plus the heal on the ult)... and that stun isnt that bad because of how hard it is to hit... but i dont think stuns should be over 2 seconds(especially ones that arnt single target)

I Main Swain2 votes

meh, it's only a quarter second longer. what annoys me is that while it's a big shield, it lasts the same amount of time as the stun (quarter second less, actually). I mean, it seems a little counter intuitive, I feel like it should just be a smaller shield that lasts longer.

arc951 votes

it really doesnt make since to have the shield be shorter than the stun... they could put the shield on like a second delay... but having a smaller shield that lasts 3 seconds or so would probably be better.

I Main Swain1 votes

what if they made it the same strength it is right now but the shield decays over 4 or 5 seconds? that would be interesting, though I don't know how it would be in practice.

arc951 votes

i cant imagine it would change much just make it actually useful ... but i could only imagine the uproar it would cause... OMG THEY BUFFING HIM AHFJDS:DSJ:FD... when it really doesn't do much at all XD

I Main Swain1 votes

tbh, that happens with pretty much every champ, especially new ones.

I think think the biggest issue with him right now is that he has an ultimate that does damage and heals without any mana cost. As well as let's him correct substantial mistakes if needed. Should assassins be allowed to get away with mistakes? I don't think so. Zed has a similar issue but if she does mess up, he's typically not doing any damage before teleporting back out of panic, nor is he getting a heal.

Plenty of people have already done so. Most of them have already commented it reminds them of pre-nerf Kassadin ,Leblanc, etc.

I Main Swain1 votes

except he's not even remotely close to that op. he has perfectly clear strengths and weaknesses, the only thing that needs nerfed is the ratio on his ult. that's it.
