Can we get Brand a new gameplay identity that doesn't involve making enemy bot want to quit League?

Back in the day my friends and I loved to play Brand mid. It was fun, it was pretty viable, and it was satisfying to see people melt late game. Fast forward 5 years and Brand just melts everyone at the start of the game and basically single handedly zones the enemy bottom lane. He's pretty bullshit like assassins with Electrocute, high base damages and a stupid massive burst passive. Only issue is Brand is AOE, pretty long ranged, and doesn't require items to continue scaling past the first few levels like assassins.

Every time I play against this degenerate character it legit makes me want to AFK. He's not as insanely oppressive as Soraka or some of the cock block supports and is played less so it makes me not want to ban him, but every time Brand appears on the enemy team I seriously consider dodging out of principle. It's like when I'm jungler and someone with psychopathic tendencies locks Nunu and I know that no matter what I do I'm gonna be in pain for the whole game. The only way to stop Brand from outright killing you in two combos is to basically zone yourself out of minion gold, and that's not a fun way to play the game.

Please Riot. Do some major work on Brand to give him some weaknesses early game in a duo lane or try to get him back mid. I'm so annoyed with this champion.
