Yasuo is like the only champion standing in the top 10 most banned champs for 4 seasons.

Yi Bencheikh··87 votes·5,421 views

1- Being in a 30%-83% ban rate for 4 seasons his ban rate dropped at some point to 9% but then back to 30% after a somewhat short duration, now he is in a 45%-50% ban rate. 2- the only champion that is banned in almost every elo ( excluding high elos such as challenger and masters and high diamond ) 3- he is standing on a 52% win rate and he is a '' popular '' champion. http://imgur.com/a/oJZ7B then you find this yasuo mains telling you he's weak then why is he banned on every elo and why is he on a 52% win rate and as i said before he is popular , i am a yasuo player myself i do have a lvl 7 mastery with him but i do agree he is annoying and frustrating to play agains't something must be wrong with this champion is why people do ban him in almost every match , they basically dont want a yasuo in thier games.

Probably because no one likes a champion whom you can beat in lane if you play accordingly but if you team gives him a few kills during a team fight, all your work in lane is gone to ***

It doesn't help that his ultimate can be "proc'ed" by so many crap these days,

Rainfall25 votes

a champion who can go 0/999999999999999999999999999999999999 and still make your ult dissapear.

SpaghettiVase11 votes

Your team doesn't even have to give him kills, so long as he can finish one item and start another he becomes too much of a monster.

Sraeg20132 votes

Yes, they do, unless he gets completely ignored for ~10 minutes, so he can free farm a side lane while you jack off not doing anything in a 5v4.

3TWarrior6 votes

it wouldn't be a 5v4 as yasuo is a splitpushing monster among other things with high attack speed and waveclear items along with his EQ combo

Irelia Bot35 votes

He is not weak, he is annoying to have to deal with and his player base is annoying to have to deal with.

That sums up the reasons why he is banned so much.

People who hate him are more of a chore to deal with imo

We should be grateful of Riot giving us a champion who has stat superiority by default, thus making the match up a continuous drag to catch and surpass (or else feed) only for it to not matter anyway even in the scenario where you beat his shenanigans, since he will move on to win teamfights with a well placed R that he didn't even place by himself or by placing a wall while panicking which is ought to block something important either way.

Sure thing, it's everyone else who is the problem.

What stat's superiority? He has weak base stats for a melee fighter.

And? It require a team coordination and specific strategy.

Synergy between champions isn't exclusive to Yasuo.

Which compensates for his weak base stats, squishyness and having to go all in into enemy team.

And you are right here.

I've heard your bullshit enough times already, spare me having to argue about it over and over again.

People like you go from "Yasuo has weak stats" to "You shouldn't have fought Yasuo early, he has strong early levels" whenever it suits your argument.

Having low base stats and a strong early game are not mutually exclusive

It isn't opinion that his base stats and damages are low for his class, it's a verifiable fact. Girlishly whining about this won't change that fact.

Spoofghoul6 votes

depends on what you would qualify as stats

he does have ''free hp'' due to his passive shield

10Tickler7 votes

Free Shield for moving around and using E, Range-denial tools in 3rd Q and W, and sure, his early AD isn't great. But, the slightest amount of crit pretty much makes that a nil point.

Your very argument about Yasuo's stats is flawed, if he had no Passive or abilities, MAYBE, MAYBE he'd be undertuned in the way of stats, but the sad fact is, he does, he's designed to be oppressive with very little

GreatWhiteNorth3 votes

His cooldown stats are not weak.

Skorch5 votes

Oh you missread me. I am not making a statement of Yasuos balance. As that is a fruitless argument that no one gains from but rather the statement of.

and his player base is annoying to have to deal with.

And i stated that personally i find the people who dont complain about Yasuo/Defend Yasuo/Play Yasuo. MUCH less annoying than the people Constantly hating Yasuo/Insulting people who play him/Ban him the second your team intents them.

( excluding high elos such as challenger and masters and high diamond )

i wonder why

we don't ban yasuo period

and the reason for this is because we can handle him so maybe one time you will turn on your brain and learn to destroy yasuo by waiting all your spells instead of fighting him at lvl 2

Pentium27 votes

Yeah because I can totally influence what happens on toplane at level 2 while I'm playing adc, rather remove the risky things from my games.

weeaboomer2 votes

Dunno, the times i see a yasuo single handedly influence a game in high elo is pretty stupid xd. Up there i guess he's more hit or miss, but when he hits, gg..

Everyone and anyone who is saying, "Don't worry, 10 bans will come" are going to have a rude awakening at some point. If Riot really intended to introduce 10 bans they would have done it by now. Their excuse of having two clients is now gone. Wait for the next excuse if they even bother giving us one. Trust me. They will come up with something even more toxic than Yasuo and you'll have to ban that instead and ooops, here comes Yasuo now.

And who cares if it's too powerful or not. It's how the player feels playing against these champs. Perception quickly becomes reality. And majority perception is Yasuo is not fun to play against, and for many, with.

My perception is that there are many problematic champs in the game. I can't stand Yasuo, but as a bruiser/tank player I abhor Fiora. I feel that shiiii is so unfair. Watching pros abuse it is sad too. How many times do we see Fiora split pushing up to tower and bursting down a tank, getting out free. It seems to happen every time I see a Fiora.

It's going to be even more outrageous once the tank patch hits the pro level. Tanks will be GONE. No more tanks so BIGPLAYS LCS can have their BIGPLAYS. OH LOOK! FIORA IS GOING IN AND TOTALLY DESTROYS THAT NAUTILUS UNDER TOWER. SO IMPRESSIVE!

/end rant.

Thanks for reading.

He's not fun to play against. Since I like having fun, I ban him.

It doesn't help people bring him top, mid, and adc so all the more reason to get rid of him.

If you play a ranged character, you want him gone as he can negate all of your damage and even ults with a basic skill.

In lane the free shield and long ass time he can hold his tornado for zoning is also a pain when people don't have sustain or damage early game. Heaven forbid he blocks 35% of your manabar with WW early game so you can't even hit minions.

He also has a ton of mobility and if minions are around for unlimited dashes he isn't even easy to skillshot. He also is good at escaping.

Votable Jester8 votes

His issue is that Windwall warps the balance of the entire enemy team based on how many projectiles they rely on. Champions aren't balanced on the off chance that they'll be Windwalled because that can only happen when one champion is in the game, and even then not all the time.

The issue is that when he does use it, if the enemy team has a bunch of important skillshots, he basically put down a zone of immunity to many spells and immunity to almost all ranged basic attacks. Depending on the enemy team, this can stretch from worthless to winning teamfights nearly on its own.

If they either A: reduced the duration significantly so it is more of a reactive defense like Riposte for the team or B: make it absorb only a certain number or damage of skillshots I think he would become a lot less frustrating.

He would of course need some small compensation buffs, likely to its cooldown.

Sraeg20137 votes

Ironically his banrate was THE highest when his winrate was THE lowest.

Khadaver1 votes

Maybe because people can't practice him

Sraeg20134 votes

You don't suddenly forget how to play a champion overnight, lmao.

Khadaver2 votes

Easily possible to start playing a champ less and less because of bans and not be as good on them. Or people that may try to pick him up have less experience.

Sraeg20132 votes

I said "overnight" and I meant it literally.

People ban yasuo because they don't want to learn how to beat him. I was like that when I was learning riven cause I couldn't figure out how the matchup worked. But since then I have refused to ban him to learn how to beat him. And it's not as hard as it sounds.

Beating a Riven makes her useless.

Beating a Yasuo instead means nothing, he can still influence teamfights with the press of R or W and he only needs 2 items to function properly.

And it's much more annoying, because Riven has meaningful cooldown windows, her shield is not an automatic protection, etc.

So I have to go through twice the trouble (although Riven is not that hard anymore either, it's not Season 3) for half the reward.

I'd rather not and he can rot in my permaban list. I'd rather go through the harass of a Pantheon, knowing that at least if I manage to survive it, he will suffer a drawback from it, instead of beating a Yasuo and seeing him win games with his #LCSbigplays press of a key.

And yet Lee is ignored for 4 seasons. GG.

dont worry. when 10 bans come out and yasuo is literally permabanned riot will do something about it

Volphi1 votes

[deleted]

statelesskiller2 votes

no they wont. we have been asking for 10 bans for too long and they already have it in competitive. they wont revert it because x champion is permabanned. yasuo and lee are probably going to be perma banned or at least banned 90% of the time and you know what riot is going to do? they are either going to change the champion so they can be played. OR they will do nothing.

it took riot a entire season to nerf kassadin (you know he was 100% pick or ban at some point) trust me . . . they are capable of stupid things

Volphi1 votes

[deleted]

statelesskiller3 votes

but. your wrong. 10 bans is for everyone. and its going to be applied to every one

bans exist for the purpose of you saying "okay i dont want this in my game" it doesn't matter the REASON why just that you dont. "op. meta. and powerful" are not the sole reasons to ban. people ban yasuo because they just dont want the obnoxious %%%% in there game

guess what 10 bans allows? the banning the obnoxious %%%%. and then riot will see that the champion needs to be fixed and hopefully he wont be a toxic %%%% . . . eventually. maybe . . . hopefully

if them wasting there bans on yasuo and other underpowered champions handicaps there ability to win thats there problem. its called choice. thats what 10 bans give. more choice. thats the point of 10 bans. choice.

i know how to play against yasuo. stand to the side of the minion wave while at the same time keeping a ward deeper down the path so you can tell if a jungler is trying to catch you out of position. poke down his shield to help minimize his power. harass when he doesnt have nado. keep distance. dont get into a sustained fight. bait out windwalls. i KNOW how to play against him. doesnt stop me from hating his very existence. and more then welcome his soon to be permaban

your chances of winning are not going to go down by any measurable amount by having 1 or 2 bans "wasted"

and please. PLEASE tell me the problem with my mentality?

This is one circlejerk I cannot argue. I am sorry if anybody expected me to. But at least Riven gets shut down when she is shut down, and isn't useful again unless the game hits 6 items so leads don't matter. Yasuo can go 0/6/1 and still be monstrously strong just by farming a short while. Don't get me wrong, he can be dealt with really easily by skilled players, the problem is even if I learn to beat him I cannot assure that my top laner/mid laner will learn to beat him. This may apply to all champions to some extent, but I cannot think of many if any who become a monster like Yasuo does regardless of how ahead/behind he is.

Overall it isn't even about winning/losing to him, it is that he makes the entire game of League about him when he is in the game. He is good at split pushing, good at laning, good at skirmishes and as long as his team has some displacement good at team fights as well. If he fails in one area he will just succeed in others making him a permanent threat. Which would be fine if every other champion in the game was like that, but very few are.

A shut down Riven is near worthless, still usable but even if she cuts neutral she is just another player in the game. She only takes over the game if both fed and played well.

A shut down Darius can still be frustrating but can be focused down quite easily, kited and lose his worth. If cutting even he does command a lot of fear but can still be played around.

A shut down Jinx can add a little DPS and hope to farm up for later usefulness, but overall is just an easily popped squishy and even when cutting even is just an ADC.

Any champion can take command of a game if they are fed and/or play well. But Yasuo, similarly Vayne as well, are the only two champions I can think of whom even when completely shut down I think about and fear their influence over the game more than even the fed enemies on their team. Because they feel like no matter what they will become the most important thing in the game by the time they complete an item or two.

I wish I could defend Yasuo, he is really attractive and a cool champion. But honestly I cannot. Sorry if this upsets anybody.

GULAG 4 U3 votes

People hate the champion, so they ban him. It is surprising? And looking at graphs, his winrate, banrate and pcikrate typically go down by elo.

And Banrates aren't suggestive of Champion strength; they reflect what the community believes of the champion.

from my exprince If i get yasuo on my team he feeds into oblivion an pretty much throws the game if im fighting him he gets fed into oblivion an snowballs into an unkillable mess

honestly id rather just ban him then risk it

Chijoku3 votes

Yas is a joke champion. Any jungler with half a brain will camp him and make him completely irrelevant because just like Riven, Nasus, Kat / Assassin mains they all have a one track mind. I have never had an issue with Yas being on the other team (outside of season 4) because he is a free win. They all do the same shit. They all overextend, don't ward, and inevitably cost their team the game.

So please, don't address Yas Riot. I love where he is right now. Free elo.

when im behind i built then, the damage can really help crutch you when you're already missing out on so much damage from being behind. i also build it when the team has 0 wave clear

stattik vs PD comes down to what you need the passive for. not to mention you can always sell it and rebuy late game when the stattik damage isnt needed anymore
