Everything in season 8 seems like it's designed to snowball the game.

I don't think it's a coincidence that every game just happens to end around 20-25 minutes (if it's not one of those over at 10 minutes stomps that happen more often than you'd expect). Everything about the design of season 8 is set up to turn small mistakes into massive advantages for the enemy team.

Think about it:

  • Tower first blood giving gold to snowball what's already a winning lane and helping other laners.
  • Whichever team has more lane control gets access to scuttles which are basically half a kill in gold and free vision and sustain, meaning it's basically a win harder mechanic.
  • Losing control of river also loses you control of dragons and rift herald, further solidifying those advantages and securing future attempts at those objectives.
  • Losing wind drake means they can out maneuver you (which they probably already were doing anyway if they're winning) and skillshot champions instantly get significantly worse. Losing infernal drake means they'll always have a slight damage advantage even if you bring the game back to even (unlikely this season).
  • Rift Herald basically guarantees 1 to 2 towers, so winning team gets rift, gets towers, and gets more global gold and pressure (which they already had because they were winning).
  • ADCs no longer crippled early, meaning you can snowball these early advantages into taking objectives, which result in more global gold and can start the snowball quicker than ever if your botlane fails.

Basically if any one part of the map falls apart, it can quickly cascade into a loss for the entire team because of these global advantages that affect all lanes when one lane is weaker. This means that even if you're stronger than your lane opponent, if another lane is significantly weaker than their opponent, you're probably still going to lose and there's nothing you can do about it. A minor mistake on any one lane's part can quickly snowball out of control.

I feel like season 8 is pretty much the worst state league has ever been in because of all of this. Games are a stomp the vast majority of the time one way or another and comebacks rarely happen anymore. Even when winning, it doesn't feel fun anymore. Gone are the days of intense 50 minute win or lose team fights. Now it's all about quickly turning small advantages into huge ones, and that's just not a fun gameplay experience for anyone. League should be first and foremost about player interaction in lane, and not all these other side objectives players have little control over individually.

It literally feels like i haven't had a SINGLE even game this season. Just retarded stomps and snowballing, which makes this season so much more tilting, since you lost because your enemy snowballed. Winning isn't much fun either.
