Come on, Riot, now you're just insulting us. I'm reminded of the Zed attack speed "nerf" from not long ago. You give Zed a slap on the wrist nerf, now you're giving Galio a less than nothing buff. Honestly I'm wondering why you bothered with something so trivial.

If you're so keen on giving him some meaningful changes let us help you with some good ol fashioned community feedback. None of this "-3 seconds E cooldown at lvl 18" crap.

Here's my input on some things that would make him worth playing...

Q - Lower that shit's mana cost. Like that's it. Nothing else. Abilities are generally more fun to use when they dont cost my whole mana bar to do so.

W - Now heals both the shield recipient and Galio. Or at the very least just give the health to the shield recipient.

E - New effect: While "Righteous Gust" persists on the battlefield Galio can cast his E a second time (for free) to activate "Leaf on the wind" E - Leaf on the wind: Galio rushes through the directional draft of his "Righteous Gust" stunning (or knocking up if you're CertainlyT) all units he collides with. Galio can pass through terrain and will end up at the end of where "Righteous Gust" was cast. Can be interrupted by hard cc while traveling. This ability can't be cast from behind "Righteous Gust"

R - Can no-longer be interrupted by hard crowd control applied by basic attacks. This would include things like Braums Concussive Blows, Blitzcranks Power Fist, Twisted Fate's Gold Card, Udyr's Bear Stance, ect.

Those are just some of the infinite ideas your community has to offer you. But please....

Don't fucking insult us with these meaningless buffs you've come up with so far.

Imo, Galio needs a full kit rework (With a VU please maybe).

He's confusing. On one hand, he's a Tank. On the other, he only counters AP champions. On one hand, he has long range waveclear, but on the other, has to get in the middle of the enemy team to use his ultimate. One one hand, his Bulwark can be used on an ally, but on the other, his passive promotes you to use it on yourself during your ultimate (Which you can do, by the way). It's kinda of outdated and all over the place. I have a few ideas...

One, make Galio like a gargoyle. Gargoyles defend buildings, so make defending the towers his strongest suit.

New passive - Eternal Vigil

Galio perches on top of the targeted ally turret. While on the turret, the turret gains a portion of his armor, and Galio can designate who the tower attacks by right clicking while perched. His Resolute Smite and Idol of Durand gain bonuses atop a turret.

Resolute Smite, no changes, but while perched on a turret, it gains double range.

Bulwark - Passively gives Galio a portion of his MR as AP, scaling up to 30% with every rank he puts in it. Actively, it can only be used on Galio now and also makes his basic attacks do bonus magic damage based on a small portion of the target's maximum hp while active.

Righteous Gust changed to Wings of Glory. Galio gains 30% boosted movement speed and leaves a path behind him that speeds up allies when they run across it. Imagine pairing it with Elixer of Iron.

Idol of Durand, no change. When used atop a tower, Galio flies from the tower to the target location (Within the tower's attack range) and casts the ability there.

It's a 25% decrease on his cd at rank 5. Which is actually really big. The problem is, everyone levels E last, so it's actually a nerf to Galio in the early-mid game. You won't actually take a second point in his E until level 14.

Galio is a really strong champ, he's just rather boring to play and his ult can be super hard countered. Besides that, he's ridiculously strong and you can't really buff him too much.

I think Riot's trying not to give Galio big buffs because he's already a fairly good champion. Underplayed, but relatively strong. He can survive against practically any AP champion because of his shield and its healing effect— I enjoy using him as a counter to Singed, Teemo, Nidalee, and Malzahar (anyone with a DoT effect, really). He does a ridiculous amount of damage with his Q for a "tank,", and he's actually a really good tank because even when he donates his shield to an ally, he heals when they take damage. His entire kit has utility to go with its actual numbers— Q's slow, W's healing, E's speed boost, R's taunt. His passive is possibly the best stat conversion passive in the game. The only things that keep him balanced, in my opinion, are his less-awesome performance against AD compositions, his ultimate's weakness to interrupts, and his melee autoattacks (which tend to become a moot point once he starts one-shotting waves with his Q and E combo). Think of his ultimate like you'd think of Annie's passive+Tibbers... It's massive, strong, AOE CC and damage. It might not have as low of a cooldown, but Galio makes up for that with the massive AOE damage on the rest of his kit, his utility, and his strong tanking.

Galio's been nerfed over and over through the loss/nerfing of his best items (Force of Nature, Abyssal Scepter, Spirit Visage, etc.), but he's still a very viable champion. If you're ever worried about laning against a powerful AP champion, pick Galio and laugh as you out-harass and out-sustain them. Running low on mana? Try using mana regen [per level] glyphs/seals or start with something that gives mana regeneration (Doran's Ring or two Faerie Charms; Ancient Coin or Spellthief's Edge if you're supporting). You don't need health sustain that much in the early game because you can just put W on yourself and walk in front of your minion wave for massive healing.

Save Flash for ulting. Galio isn't particularly gankable because he's tough as hell + his Q and E both help him escape.

TL;DR: Riot's giving out a small buff for a champion that doesn't need big buffs.
