Buff Unique Joke/Taunt/Interaction Range

In a recent matchup, in ARAM, in which I found myself in a more casual group of people, I attempted multiple times to taunt the enemy Fiddlesticks from a "safe" distance - I would approximate it to be around 800 or fewer units (this being judged by how much he had to move to use Dark Wind) and found that the special taunt refused to trigger. As you might have guessed, I was using the Dunk Master. One of the best parts of the game's characters and skins are the unique interactions between them and it is bothersome to see that such emotes are not usable in game without repercussion due to a range barrier. Please. Buff unique/special/hidden interaction range.
