Fighters/tanks that can mid effectively.

Fighters and tanks are usually very matchup dependend mid and work best as counterpicks vs meele assasins. Though there are some that can also do good vs many mages: Lee, Renekton, Wu and j4. They have the needed tools to close the gap, trade efficiently and get away without takeing to much damage. Lee and renecton have some nice sustain on top, and all have good tools to get away from ganks. Especially Wu and J4 are also extemely good at roaming.

can mid effectively vs many assassins goes where he pleases with cleaver there is even a chance to get farmed I've seen this work classic counter pick to akali and friends or if they don't poke too hard lets face it it doesn't matter what you do as long as you pick this frog

I have seen both Wukong and J4 wreck mid lane so hard they would carry all by themselves.

Cho. Garen does well too cus he can get tanky and his silence counters alot of people like zed/kat/akali/etc.

Pretty much everyone, but it depends on the teammates you have. Otherwise you can face a lack of waveclear mid-late game, which is bad. Anyways: is a decent option as a counterpick to assassins I've seen people having success with: as well, but if they are good or bad depends more on matchups and team comps

I can vouch for renekton mid being very strong.Faker played olaf mid in LCS. Honestly tho if you havent tryed it i would go for khaziks mid. This is so dam cheesy and easy to get ahead with. The thing is mid lane mages have a habit of walking a way from minions alot when csing and as soon as they do you jump on them and instantly win the trade with isolation. Also when they get low they will step up to cs and walk away from minions, then you jump and just kill them.
