Prediction for patch 5.5 notes

EDIT: Before an angry red comes in here to say this isn't constructive, I just want to say it's better to laugh at something than to cry about it.

  • Because certain champions had too much mobility, boots have been nerfed and provide 20 less movement speeds.
  • Lee Sin, Zed, Jarvan IV, Riven, Vi, Ahri, Fizz, Jinx, Leblanc and Kalista have had their base movement speed increased by 20.
  • Zed's base ability power is now 0.
  • Mordekaiser's shield generation has been halved.
  • Lee Sin can now use Safeguard on towers and the ground.
  • Players have been complaining that they are unable to land Veigar's Dark Matter after the changes to Event Horizon, so we increased the AP ratio of Dark Matter by 0.1.
  • Dark Matter's delay increased by 1 second.
  • Leblanc and Zed are now automatically teleported to the nearest friendly tower when their health falls below 20% and have all negative effects removed.
  • Jarvan IV is now immune to damage and crowd control for 5 seconds after using Cataclysm.
  • New champion introduced: Dash the Chargekin, a resourceless champion!
  • Passive: Speedy: Dash gains +100% movement speed during combat and if he's spent 5 seconds without dealing or taking damage.
  • Q: Charge: Dash charges to the selected target and deals 100% of his Attack Damage. 1 second cooldown.
  • W: Dash: Dash dashes to the selected location, knocking up everything in his path and doing 50% of his attack damage. 3 second cooldown.
  • E: Mobility: Dash passively gains armor penetration relative to his movement speed. Activating the ability also causes him to deal bonus true damage based on his target's health with every attack and spell for 10 seconds. 10 second cooldown.
  • R: Balanced: Dash can walk through walls and units. Activating this ability allows him to teleport anywhere on the map instantly. 60 second cooldown, resets when he gets a kill or when his health falls below 50%.

Love the Zed nerf to ability power!

Little over the top. He should get compensation buffs, like a reduced cooldown for his mobility to help fight mobility creep.

It definately puts zed in line, but he forgot the changes to the less popular champs!

  • Yorick's ghouls were overbearing, so now they only last half as long.
  • Urgot's acid hunter lock on range was too long, so it's been reduced to his basic attack range.
  • Cassiopeia's early Q burst is still too strong. Q Damage changed to 5/35/75/105/135 from 75/115/155/195/235
  • When played right, Aatrox's sustain is a huge problem in lane. All lifesteal completely removed. We'll keep an eye on him (jk).
  • Karma was being played as a mage when she's really a support. All AP ratio's reduced by 30%.
  • Karma was being played as a support when she's really a mage. Shield and CC strength reduced by 30%.
  • Thematically olaf's ult doesn't make sense, as vikings are people and thus can be stunned. Ragnarok no longer ignores CC.
  • Zac's been having a hard time in the jungle, so we're increasing his armor by 3, and his armor per level by 0.02.
  • Zac's maximum hp reduced by 40%.

(Can't forget the usual nerfing to old weak champs no one even plays. :))

Sounds about right. Except you forgot to mention the "buffs" to Syndra. Q at lvl 1 increased to 55 damage. Q mana cost at all levels doubled.

Shinjusuke6 votes

You know, it stings seeing that someone ELSE noticed that literally every single time Riot says "we'll keep an eye on ____", it's 100% total bullshit PR speak that literally NEVER amounts to ANYTHING.

He's really feeling those nerfs now.

He's definitely a healthy assassin after that nerf!

But...but...Balance is weakness Zed

Dash needs more waveclear, and should have a Sheen proc that stuns on hit after using any spell as an additional passive. This was hilarious read.

Troy24262119 votes

Also an unmissably large and fast projectile skillshot so that he can fall under the purview of "Skillcap makes it OK."

Which can also justify having more CC/Damage and has counterplay in the form of "They might miss."

Riot slowly lowers their blueprint design for Dash the Chargekin

Zed's base ap is now 0.

It will seperate great Zed from good Zed.

Zed's base ability power is now 0.

Great! Hopefully Zed will be now easier to deal with! Good job Riot.

As a prospectful Kalista main, I would be horrified by this.

I mean, if Lee could use his safeguard on the ground, he might actually stick on to me for more that three seconds. That would be so OP, like seriously.

KaisadiIIa23 votes

At least you are playing a fair champion with fair weaknesses like her lack of mobility, her lack of poke or her lack of last-hitting baron with 3,500 health.

GloriousKaiser25 votes

The art team was really on board for this champ though.

That second change is a compensation buff. Those champions needed it.

You missed a few ones out:

Jinx Jinx

We found Jinx's damage to a be just a little bit overbearing during both the early and late stages of the game. To fix this, we've decided to nerf the thing that players have unanimously agreed to be her absolute largest problem, the insane AP scaling on her flame chompers. There, perfectly healthy, now stop whining.

Flame Chompers: AP ratio reduced from 100% to 99%.

Nasus Nasus

Given the universal acclaim to the Cassiopeia rework, we decided to see how these amazing and loved changes could make the game more interactive and choice based for other champions. Seeing how we didn't see any complaints about these changes anywhere during the PBE cycle (trust us, we definitely checked) we figure they're totally fine. If not, we may change it in the future if a pig flies over a blue moon, wins the lottery then gets hit by lightning.

Siphoning Strike:

No longer gains stacks from Minion and Monster kills. Gains 1 stack every 10 seconds. Extra damage only applies at 100, 300 and 500 stacks.

Wither: All slows reduced by half.

Spirit Fire: Initial magic damage increased from 55 / 95 / 135 / 175 / 215 to 100/200/300/400/500 Magic Damage per second increased from 11 / 19 / 27 / 35 / 43 to 50/100/150/200/250 Cooldown is reduced to 5 seconds if it hits a an enemy affected by wither. Mana cost is refunded if it kills a unit. Now also damages structures Does your taxes

We've noticed that galio and mordekaiser have shown up in more than 10 games this month, so we are thinking of a nerf.

Now, Galio's E doesn't do anything at all, you just click it to lose mana. We have also doubled his Q mana cost and removed the taunt on his ult. We just felt that it was too overbearing for the mobile champs out there.

Mordekaiser is just really overbearing at the moment. His lack of cc is definitely a problem for mobile champs and his shield makes it impossible for zed to completely delete him. With that being said, his Q now only hits minions and doesn't generate a shield. His W doesn't generate a shield. You know what, fuck the shield. Everything costs health and we don't get a shield anymore.

I think these new changes will definitely impact the champions that are currently dominating the meta. Lee sin definitely wont be able to run rampant after these changes to galio and morde...

Edit: Sorry not a nerf... We are just going to fix some balance issues with lee sin.**

I feel guilty for playing Galio now D:

mikemcparty2 votes

You should! Galio is a "cancerous" champion. Zero counterplay.

I think you mean, Bitey, the Last of the Dashkin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Efa1uX6fOmc

And in true Riot Games spirit, it's been 5 years and this story hasn't really been expanded upon, save a teaser for a game that might come out shortly after the heat-death of the universe.

Wasn't sure if serious until the Jarvan one. Then the veil of text-based sarcasm hit me.

I just read the Kalista thread, though, so I was on guard.

#lcsbigplays OMG he juked all that everything so well, so pro, give him a cookie.

Madra4 votes

Dashy is fast enough to maybe be a competitive pick but I'm worried if he really has the damage to carry on the pro scene. I think Dashy's R needs a passive effect that adds Magic Damage to his attacks equal to 100%/150%/200% (rank1/2/3) the difference between his Movement speed and the movement speed of whoever he is hitting. This will encourage Dashy's to build boots... and the strategic decision making it entails... thus ensuring good champion health.

The Dashy patch should actually rework Zephyr into a good item, too.

This one got me laughing xD

trexmixG3 votes

im tired of posts like this. if you dont like the game, don't play. this made me smile, but why is this on the front page and not something actually constructive?

Pvt Yong Tai34 votes

It's different. It's a change of pace to the serious and grueling process that we on the boards go through every patch. See change, discuss, give ass-tons of suggestions, get ignored.

(except for the art team. we love you)

Urdnot Entar17 votes

The whole point is many people who post on the forums love the game, but hate Riot's treatment of it and the community. How else is Riot going to get their act together if they don't hear from us?

trexmixG2 votes

i get it, just im not a fan of the circlejerk when something very sarcastic/ almost rude gets to the front page.

MXXIV13 votes

By that token I think the actual patch notes should better not appear on the front page of the Client. Because they're gonna be cynic, sarcastic and definitely rude, as hypocrisy always is.

TheTyeGuy1 votes

Nobody actually thinks Riot will do this.

If you actually think Riot would blatantly laugh at the community's comments, then make changes in SPITE of their criticisms, fuck the boards and everyone in it.

Nucleophilic atk27 votes

You mean how everyone commented for no Veigar changes? Or the Cass rework? Or the Sona nerfs?
