Pro players pick mages instead of ADCs. You must understand that there is a problem with the meta.

The 5 men dive does not let the adcs to scale up to late game, therefore it is more viable to pick APC instead of ADC because even if they go 0/20 they will still have something to give to their team (waveclear,cc,etc.) Can this get fixed?

Man, someone downvoted your post.

Honestly, this is a huge problem. I hate seeing AP champs bot lane because they end up just doing more in general. One thing this allows for is an AD JG and Mid laner at the same time. Normally, to have a balance of Damages, you would normally have an ADC botlane meaning that the support would usually be AP. With that, Mid or JG would have to be AD or AP respectively, leaving top to normally be a tank.

With an AP botlane, you can have an AD JG and MID at the same time without sacrificing mixed dmg. There are a few exceptions to this and most players in low elos don't care about mixed dmg. This COULD be good, but there is more of a chance for it to go negative as the opposing midlaner could rush some armor to survive ganks and trades.

There is a problem with the meta, but mages occasionally being picked in place of ADC is an awesome part of meta, NOT part of the problem.

ADCs is the only class that had a lock on a position for most of last few seasons, it is unhealthy, some variety in botlane is welcome!

Yeah, it's the same type of problem I have when my wallet is too full of money. The thing is going to burst at the seams!

To be clear, that was a sarcastic comment meant to illustrate a point (if I actually were rich, I wouldn't be eating the volume of Ramen Noodles I currently do). The point being that marksmen becoming an optional part of the game isn't a problem at all. In fact, a lot of players are welcoming it as a solution to a state bot lane meta.

Marksmen mains aren't going to like it for obvious reasons, but they'll settle down once they learn how to take marksmen to other roles.
