Veigar E

Also Azir R

Also Thresh E

TurquoiseYoshi1 votes

PLZ NO. HE DOES NOT NEED ANY MORE CC.

MrBuffington1 votes

Thresh's E doesn't block dashes any more than any other well timed displacement CC. Veigar E actually stops dashes, Azir ult doesn't allow enemies to dash over it.

3TWarrior2 votes

and when it does, they get stuck in place, good old azir bugs XD

oh, btw, it blocks flash too...which is a blink and not a dash

MrBuffington1 votes

lol really? good old azir bugs indeed, lol

WillHealForHonor1 votes

doesnt block flash dude

3TWarrior1 votes

yep, because even when you're right next to it and flash, then get knock back...it "doesn't" work

Aych Pii1 votes

If you hit Thresh's E on a dash, it actually cancels it entirely and returns the user to the origin point of the dash rather than just doing the regular E pullback.

I believe that's how it works anyways...

MrBuffington1 votes

...I don't think that's how it works, I could be wrong though, it's been a while since I played Thresh

junglerboy161 votes

It only stops dashes that are already stopped by displacement (like Aatrox Q), not dashes like Tristana's rocket jump (which both Veigar E and Azir R stop).

Eggstealer2 votes

sorry not if we are still talking about thresh e. his flay does stop tris jump if you time it with her shadow on the ground. it also stops Leona e if timed well, graves/luc dash, corki valkyrie etc. I can't think of one that he can't stop but I'm probably wrong.

why not Rengar E makes some sense since how can u move quickly when ur snared?

Silence and root

blueberrypancake8 votes

Rito has progressively gone away from silence (almost assassins had it removed and thing about the last tie a champ was given a silence)

One person had the idea of adding a type of CC called cripple which does what the OP suggests which is silence for dashes and blinks

Personally, I wish if there was a champion that was a complete pacifist that only applies soft cc's like silence and blinds

ElJanitorFrank1 votes

LeBlanc and Talon had it removed. That's it.

Trundle Bundle1 votes

And Kassadin. Not that the point doesn't stand; it's not silence that's being phased out, but strong engage assassins that can burst you under silence that lost it.

Cindikle2 votes

And Viktor

Trundle Bundle1 votes

To add, the distinctive part of cripple is that it's very focused in what it's meant to counter. It may not be the most exciting mechanic, but it allows the condition to either be applied through targeted means unlike most CC, or otherwise for a longer period of time than would normally be appropriate.

Movement is polarizing enough that I really don't think it can go unchecked. There are tradeoffs for having mobility, for sure, but honestly it feels like Riot treats them as a linear power boost for something that magnifies champions exponentially. It isn't just extra engagement range, it's often reason enough not to have to think about positioning until after a mistake is made. It allows for extra aggression throughout all parts of the game because it is the premier form of safety, and while certain champions should be allowed definitively different gameplay like that, the overuse of a mechanic that tends to cheapen things to such a level isn't okay.

The Y2J Problem6 votes

Smite actually has an anti-mobility form of crowd control called Cripple, where literally the only thing it does is make movement abilities unavailable. Although I think the general playerbase would rage HARD about introducing a form of CC like this in LoL, I'm still surprised something like this hasn't happened, seeing as a lot of people are complaining about mobility.

Instead the mentality has be to just say Fuck it, just give every new champion 1-3 mobility abilities, then eventually the game with balance out, and the non-mobile champions will finally be eliminated! That's Darwin for you baby, survival of the mobile-est!

NEWS FLASH - All CC nearly, is anti dash!

YOU BEEN WARNED9 votes

Slows are countered by dashes, most champions have slows.

Hard CC design pattern is heading towards "delayed skillshot", Mobility owns skillshots, let alone delays.

Therefore mobility counters most CC.

HorusEye1 votes

You obviously havent played Riven lol

Vistha Kai3 votes

Death is the best anti-dash CC.

doublelift fg2 votes

a spell which prevent spells to dash/blink/jump

OJ1912 votes

At this point I just wish they would make snares prevent jarvans dash

because neither Q nor E counts as mobility, he can freely cast it and it still dashes :/

Stars Shaper2 votes

Azir

your candidates are pretty shit

IcyPepper3 votes

Why don't you suggest some better ones?

I'm not really for adding this to any champion in the first place.

I'm just saying that giving a champion who already has overwhelming mobility a way to keep you from being mobile or making a spell that already shits on your MS and ability to fight back prevent gapclosers is retarded

IcyPepper6 votes

retarded

Not sure you know what that word means.

Aside from that, I suppose. Nunu makes sense, though, because the spell could be adjusted to not shit on MS speed so much but be a pain for more mobile champions.

This is still fixing a problem that does not exist.

IcyPepper3 votes

I don't recall OP proposing to fix a problem.

I recall OP proposing a new type of interaction in champion mechanics and suggesting two champions that could utilize it.

Erockandroll1 votes

Stickily speaking, the anti dash CC is probably the root. It prevents all movement including movement based abilities, but does not prevent other abilities and does not prevent you from attacking.

The whole CC argument for a champ depend on what that champion is, and what CC allows them to perform their role, without being oppressive. How does a snare or root help champ A do what ever, and why a root over a stun.

U can have bigger duration for this type of cc

CISTERN1 votes

I want this type of cc at omens. Nidale, fizz, zed overxtended, kill them. Then riot dont need to nerf these champions further

junglerboy161 votes

Like somebody on another thread mentioned, having a DoT that calculates damage based on distance traveled like the Bloodseeker of DotA 2 would be solidly anti-mobility, since anyone who tries to dash away would deal a considerable amount of damage to themselves. I'm not sure Riot would ever use it though because that would be counterintuitive (I want to dash away from this threat, but dashing away hurts me, what do I do?) and would be harmful for in game clarity.

Squarefighter1 votes

It just seems like it would be super situational. Why not just use a silence or a root instead?

Kal Vas Flam1 votes

Well they've been taking silence out of the game, which was a pretty good anti-dash CC actually.

KoKoboto1 votes

Yeah more roots, Varus support isn't enough!

Tis a nice day1 votes

You can't dash out of Veigar' wall

kanacho1 votes

Because anti-dash is accomplished effectively by both SIlence, and Snares without being a hard enough CC like a stun. If you are talking about adding a soft CC like a new type of slow that maybe REDUCED dash range, or just stopped dashing altogether, then that could be interesting, but it would need a lot of balance testing for it to be implemented fairly without giving champs a bunch of hidden power or something.

Aych Pii1 votes

Cripple could be an interesting mechanic. Maybe make it an un-reducable slow that can't be dashed out of, but tends to be less severe or shorter lasting than other slows? Basically to slows what knock-ups are to stuns.

Cindikle1 votes

Kassadin Anti-mobilty on one of the most mobile champions is a bad idea. Nunu While a good start. I think it'd fit better on his ulti.

Cassiopeia Ulti disables mobility if it doesn't stun Diana If she ever gets a rework, I think anti-mobility would be a cool mechanic on her. Elise While in mid rappel enemies cannot use dashes/blinks. Udyr Cannot be dash/teleported to while his shield is up and in turtle stance. Viktor Cannot dash/teleport out of his R.

I like the idea of anti-CC. As long as it's not some direct CC. More of a bonus of another skill.

Tourian1 votes

The only one of those guys that actually needs help right now is Elise. It would break the others.

Gigablitz1 votes

Partially relevant: Dashes should not be able to go over walls. Thematically, it's just a champ slamming into a wall, going through it, not receiving damage and not damaging the wall. On the other hand, jumps and blinks perfectly make sense going over walls.

So addressing dashes in that sense would already make them less frustrating to deal with. Thoughts?

Besteau1 votes

We already have one. Darius E ability. IF you can predict their dash use the e moments before it. they will dash and then get pulled all the way back.

Bad idea. It would invalidate champions that rely on their dashes as a source of damage (Riven, Yasuo). It's like having an "anti-CC CC" that selectively disables mage spells that stun or slow and not expecting Lissandra to become useless when hit by it while Brand doesn't care much.
