Is it just me? (Mainly A Solo Player Question)

Or has the overall attitude of the lower elo playerbase gotten hostile?

Im asking of anyone who has spent most of their time in "elo hell" or climbed out and has been smurfing there lately. Not asking out of salt for my own lack of climb, i can't click for other people, but I play every day and most games now start going south in champ select. If we make it through champ select, the next potential disaster point is that FB/ possible double kill.

  1. Most often as soon as someone dies, 1 person begins flame (at least)
  2. Ban of ally pick intent followed by flame
  3. Even in games that go well, at least one person is only using chat to try and piss someone off
  4. Someone picks their champ "why go that" "we need x" "boosted" "not ganking" etc

^All of these examples get pretty ridiculous depending on if premades are involved and whether or not they are smurfing/grouping from the boards. Insert all of the dynamic queue reasons and rants here______________.

Win or lose, these are the scenarios of pretty much every rank game i play. If anything, as a Solo player I kinda feel adrift in how to do better and stay positive.

Oh, Norms; absolute chaos most games in low elo. Pretty sure I get more even-skilled matches in Rank rather than Norms. Hard to practice against smurfs and all of the higher rank players we get matched with, just for them to offer no help or breathing room; unless they're on my team trolling "cuz its a norm dude it doesn't matter what i do". If i were to respond to a comment like this, it wouldn't matter what I say its probably going to get shot down by my lower rank at loading screen lol. When I do well, I don't feel like its because I'm better, but rather my teammates that particular game just happen to be functioning on a pretty basic, non toxic level, with little talking in chat and not dying in lane. Or I happen to get paired with a good premade that wins a lane or two completely independently of me.

Late game is still late game with long death timers and the game swinging like a pendulum, but unless i'm on a team with a premade advantage it is hard to get these players that have been hate typing each other all game to then group and do things together. Plus as the solo player, even if all i do is a play call, if i don't have a hard carry score before i'm typing those objective calls no one is paying me any mind.

This is frustrating. :) Comments? Suggestions? Tips?

First, yes the overall attitude across all elos, not just low elo, is shitty. It's been that way for a while. All you can do is ignore these people and DON'T TYPE IN CHAT. Mute them if necessary. But I don't feel it's because of Dynamic Queue. I'm also a solo player(at least in ranked) but I don't feel like DQ has negatively impacted me much. It also makes those certain teams where everyone is nice a miracle to come by. I've had games where I was happy still losing because of how nice everyone was and everyone's just making jokes(non-flaming types) and being friendly.

When I smurf I do try to offer tips, but some people just don't take kindly to them and get mad. I've had one game where, before I even said anything, the enemy team knew I was smurfing at like 10 minutes in(I got 3 triple kills by 10 minutes, although it was due to them getting too aggressive and killing my team) and the rest of the game was filled with "fuck you smurf kill your fucking self you can't do shit unless you play in this elo cause you're shit". I didn't offer tips here. However I've had another game where the enemy team, after knowing I was a smurf due to my mechanics, was very nice and was like wow nice plays. One of them even said I wish I could play that well. Of course I gave tips on every mistake I found of them.

I have had good days and bad days.

Recently it seems people are actually willing to switch roles with people which was not the case for the first few months of dynamic queue.
