So I have a friend, who's a really nice person and all and an OK player, but I find it annoying to play with his jungle Udyr. This guy literally does not come out of the jungle before around 15 to 20 minutes. Now, would be fine with it if he was on a Yi or even Noc, but you know, he's on Udyr, and he doesn't do ganks. Also, he hates teamfights for some reason. Even when we are up in gold and has a teamfight comp, he wouldn't join us. He'd split and split until we lose because the rest of us, especially me, has an extremely aggressive playstyle. And he gives me a reason...Udyr is a late game champion, his early sucks, so play like I'm afk b4 I have full build! Is he right? Just curious...

Hold on, let me get this straight.

You know your friend isn't going to help. You know you're not going to get direct assistance from him. Yet, you don't change your play style to work around it?

so, in S4 there was a time you went tiger udyr and you were the god of the early game. now whatsoever, people go phoenix udyr for better scaling and faster jungle clear, and farm a lot. (Godyr). im not a big fan of this either since it usually involves having your team 4v5 to get strong while having less carry potential that master yi (lets face it, that champ is stupid but his late is strong). so he should gank, but if he focuses on farming hes kinda right aswell. ganking with udyr is kinda hard anyway in many matchups so if you dont present him a free (literally free) gank, he probably wont do it

A good Udyr will still gank from time to time even if he's spending most of his time farming and counter-jungling. Your friend does not sound like a good Udyr. Also Udyr is strongest mid game I believe. He gets outscaled and his tankiness gets penned late I believe.

It depends on his build, a splitpushing late game tiger stance udyr is basically unstoppable in a duel unless you are playing a hypercarry. So if you know he wants to split push, you should be telling your team to play safe, not fight and just try to keep pressure so he can either take objectives or draw 2-3 of them to him so you can push objectives 4v3/4v2.

Neither of you are right or wrong, its just that either he needs to group up with the team or you as a team need to figure out that you shouldn't be fighting a 4v5 and play safe while applying pressure.

I would say split push Udyr is usually a good option but you a team that communicates well.

He's kinda right, Udyr is good late game. But he can gank at level 2 if he takes his stun second, or anytime after he gets his stun. unfortunately, people will probably expect it now that it's been done in competitive play. (especially by such a famous team... UOL FOR LYFE!)

Udyr is stronger mid game, definitely. But, not team fighting when a team fight occurs is how you lose the game for your team. Udyr is a beast about being in the enemy carries face, making him immediately worthwhile in a teamfight.
