So according to the boards
They want ADCs to be gutted to the point where they can't do anything in teamfights and are no more than tower taking machines. In which point, if you have a full AD team, there would be no real point to take them. Have I got it right?
I'll say this now. ADCs, in and of themselves, are /not/ busted. If you take out all items, and have them down to core kits, they are not busted. (Aside maybe Vayne and Draven) What makes them busted in the combination of high attack speed and life steal healing them for way too much. Ever seen a 10 health Vayne get 90% of her health back in one auto? I have. A Draven do the same? I have. Miss Fortune? I have.
Grevious wounds items are sparse, limited to Morellos for AP and the Not-Dom's (name escapes me.. Mikaels?) for AD. Morellos is often on an APC's recommended, the AD one is not - sometimes Doms is, but not Not-Doms. Both these items honestly don't reduce healing enough or maybe not long enough. It potentially does for Varus and Kogma. But not the bursty hyper carries like Vayne and Draven with Death's Dance. The high burst carries are why some of the other adcs that have been so strong for so long (Ezreal) are doing so poorly this season.
Secondly, the changes to tank items are another reason by they have gotten indirectly buffed. They nerfed most Armor and MR items, Riot wants to keep the games shorter. Nerfing resistances indirectly buffs them BECAUSE their sustained damage goes unchecked. It used to be a whole AD team was one of the worst things you could do.
Let me give you an example from a few season ago:
I was playing ARAM and I got Jarvan. Their team was 4 adcs and A Garen that went full tank. We had mixed damage. I built full armor + Ravenous hydra. (This was before titanic was an item, I think) I went in. Alone. Under two towers to kill the turrets, with 4 adcs wailing on me. I killed both towers before they could kill me.
Could I do the same thing now? Heck no. But in all honesty, this was ridiculous. However, at the same time, now it doesn't matter if your team is full AD. It doesn't matter if you have a tank. Unless you have 3 or more tanks, Tanks feel underwhelming, they aren't preforming the way they should, they can't DO THEIR ROLES. And its NOT because of ADCs but of many item optimization changes over the seasons. Because, most tanks can't get to late game where they are monsters because the games have gotten so short. They have gotten so short because of the nerfs to these items. Late game carries like Kog have been phased out in favour of early game hyper carries like Draven.
