I'm worried about Riot adding more RNG to the game in the form of environmental changes
I posted this on the new article about gameplay goals for season 10 but figured I'd paste it here as well since those announcement posts don't get as much visibility. I'd love to know your thoughts on what was announced as will. As for me, I'm worried. I'm sure that just like the drakes, certain champions will synergize better with certain environmental effects. Unlike drakes though which are a small stat boost which is made important by being distributed to all five champions, I'm guessing these events could be on a part of the map only two people are fighting in.
Basically, what I don't want to see is some sort of event that breaks champions, but only in certain games. For example, if a free teleporter takes top laners to bot, people will only play heavy early game duelists top and champions like Kayle will be made useless. I don't want the pool of tops to be deleted save 4 champions by forced interactions like what happened in jungle.
Furthermore, imagine your champion becomes busted due to environment stuff and gets nerfed, then you play that champion in a game where said event just never happens. Yikes.
I'm not saying more map mechanics are bad, but I worry about reactive mechanics based on RNG like environment stuff rather than proactive choices like Smite buffs (rest in peace).
