BotRK over Runaan's Hurricane. Why?

What are the rationalization for opting for a BF Sword+Runaan Hurricane instead of the recent build path that is BotRK (as "first" item choice)?

I feel like Runaan Hurricane allows for better farming during mid game compared to BotRK. Am I missing something? Ruined King's so popular that even pros buy it on Caitlyn when Runaan would've build up her passive stacks much faster.

Plus the 15% life steal doesnt really help when most of the time you would die to burst damage before you have time to dish out enough damage for that lifesteal (which is something I feel that is better left to opt for in late game). Nothing wrong with building BotRK late game though.

The only factor I can see that is somehow making BotRK that favorable choice is its 8% Hp physical damage, which wouldve been better once you have more attack speed. Am I underestimating that 8%? Perhaps someone could enlighten me mathematically.

Lifesteal is really good in lane I think. You can take dragon much quicker with botrk which is also good.

People are going BoTRK first for the dueling potential. It is an earlier breakpoint than BF Sword/Hurricane, which allows a BoTRK adc to beat and get pressure over one building Sword/Hurricane.

You're also setting up a dichotomy that they either buy BoTRK or Hurricane, which isn't true. A lot of adcs go BoTRK>Hurricane now.

Can't really help mathematically, but its because all parts of a BotRK are incredibly stat efficient to build, and stat wise helps you a lot more in lane, than a hurricane will, additionally most marksmen that are building it have a way to auto attack cancel or reset (even Ashe has one with her q reset) it makes it to where you can take even bad trades and then just heal back up, where a hurricane just makes you push faster and make yourself easier to gank, which you also has less chance surviving because you have no life steal. Finally the other big consideration is the new passive where it does 8% of their health but has the stipulation of minimum 15 damage per auto attack. Hurricane is still an excellent item, but the ridiculously overpowered damage and sustain BotRK give you most often beats it, specifically in the 2v2.

The Active is another good thing it has going for itself. Point and click slows that also do an instant 100 magic damage are good for all ins.

As for buying it on Caitlin I think I myself would only buy it if my opponent is buying it first as well, because Caitlin really likes her crit multipliers but if you can't straight up kill them they will just sustain back up, and eventually probably be at a health advantage, and be stronger in all in.

At the end of the day most BotRK users also get hurricane come late game, but the early game strength of BotRK cannot be denied, compared to an item that really requires another crit item to really shine through.

*Edit I could see an argument for hurricane first if your team is getting dumpstered and you need to rush wave clear or loose even harder, but thats really the only case for it first now I think
