It's just going to take some practice and getting used to the champion and the raw power you have. You have a much stronger early game than most junglers and you really need to abuse that. In almost all cases you're going to want to mark the enemy jungler first and hunt them down in their jungle. Between the slow from your E and the 2 second CD on your Q when you have W active, you can catch just about anybody even if they flash.
I typically like to do my first 2 camps and then go looking for the invade. Have someone place a ward before jungle monsters spawn, on the krugs/gromp. This way you know which side the enemy jungler is starting on. You can do the standard level 2 cheese kill with kindred but i'm not huge on it. I prefer to try and catch them after they've rotated to the other side of their jungle.
For example:
If the enemy starts Blue side, it's highly likely that they're going to do the standard Gromp-Blue-Red. Instead of going for them at their blue buff, you wait for them to rotate over to their red side. It'll really catch them off guard since you don't see that type of invade very often.
However if you don't have a great matchup against the enemy jungler or you want to play a little more conservative, just farm your butt off. Kindred has a great clear speed and takes very little damage in the jungle between kiting the camps and sustain from her W.
With the changes they're making to
it looks like kindred is going to be getting a MASSIVE buff so now is a great time to start learning her. When the change goes through, the new item is going to be a 100% buy.
Above all else when playing Kindred, make your passive your #1 priority. Get hyped before the game and really get into that hunting mindset. A Kindred with 2 passive stacks at 20 minutes is basically useless. On the other hand you have to be really cautious when it comes to taking the enemy camps that are marked. While it may not be as valuable in combat, this is where building a
can really come in handy. Keeping the enemy jungle warded at all times can give you valuable information as to whether or not it's safe to go in for that stack. Example: If the wolves are marked and your ward just spotted the enemy at their gromp, it's safe to go for.
You also really need to think about the enemy team comp and the current state of the game you're in before buying
.
If the enemy has no tank besides a support like
you're probably better off rushing a different item. It's a core item on Kindred but you don't necessarily have to build it first depending on how your game is going. It can be highly beneficial to go for a
or
first if you need more raw damage or survivability first and you're already sitting on 4-5 stacks.
OOOONE MOOOORE THING
Learn to use your Ult properly. If you have a reset reliant team mate like
you need to be really careful not to pop your ult and completely screw them. I've seen quite a few
players straight up throw the game by ulting while
is about to hit reset city.
Also, Buffering your Ult with
/
takes some practice but will win you mid game skirmishes. If you can get your
/
to pop just as your Ult is ending it can be the difference between winning that fight and losing it. Sure, both you and your enemy get healed...but if you're both low HP that shield is going to be clutch.
I could keep going on and on but I simply don't have the time right now. If you wanna add me in game i'd love to play with you and give you some situational in-game tips.
