Let's talk about Poacher's

I saw in the Red Tracker that no one is working on it. So I wanted to talk about it's problems.

  1. Too situational.
  2. Not strong enough even in that situation.
  3. Doesn't Smite Champions.

How can we make this item better?

Well here's my idea on it: Make it less situational. Make it steal MORE

How? Well here's how.

  1. Make it do more dmg to enemy's camps. Letting you outsmite them easier if they pop and say "HEY PAL"
  2. Make it allow you to smite the enemy for dmg, and you steal whatever jungle buff they have. Excluding Red, and Blue, Buff.

What does this do for Poacher's? This makes it less situational and better for stealing from the enemy jungle. You also can use this against tank Junglers to take their gromp buff.

What do you guys think?

How about if you smite with Poacher's, you steal the enemy for five minutes and force them to play on your team?

I think the stronger smite is an option...I do not like smite stealing...at all lol. "Oh, your mid just got blue buff and I gave mine to my mid? Let me just walk in lane to smite you and run away."

I said "excluding Red, and Blue, Buff."

Haha, I'm a dumb dumb. Sorry, trying to study and League at the same time....doesn't work well for either of them.

That idea just turned into a good one :). I think it would be an interesting mechanic in the game. I also think it would encourage junglers to help ward more lol.

I'd say make the extra Smite damage also not apply to the Red/Blue buff monsters either. This might promote a pretty [insert buzzword here] playstyle, where good timers result in the enemy jungler never having a buff. Yeah timers do that now, but at least it's a (mostly even) smite battle. The extra damage, especially in high elo, could completely deny the enemy jungler.

Smiting them to steal the buff sounds good too. But, I'd argue it shouldn't be stolen, just replicated. Let the enemy jungler keep his Gromp buff, but you get one too.

The other thing that worries me, how to prevent junglers like Nunu from abusing it. He's already in a good spot
