Why is Crit Chance still a thing?

Why, even though riot has stated that it is against randomization in the game and has already removed dodge, is crit chance still a thing? I don't think that crit chance adds anything skill wise to league of legends; people treat it effectively as a multiplier on their total attack damage, not as a chance to burst damage something (in other words, they players don't treat crit the way poker players treat good hands, they do not strategize around individual autoattacks). Why not turn crit into the modifier it already effectively is? Or turn it into something else entirely that adds real skill/strategy to the game and leaves more of a games outcome to the player instead of an RNG? I would love to hear from a rioter the reason crit still is accepted as a positive part of the game, or hear from anybody about cool alternatives to the current crit chance mechanic.

also crit chance is too cost effective, should be more expensive

I suppose because there needs to be a third stat to multiply adc damage to make it as high as it is, and adding % more damage is really no different then just replacing crit chance with more AD.

Dunno, it might have to do with ADC itemization can also affect other AD builds (assassins, bruisers)

Crit adds a perk to having sustained damage, it means the more auto attacks you get off, the more likely you are to have more damage. It means that ADC's and champions like Master Yi, Trynd, and Yasuo can actually scale into late game. If an assasin builds crit and doesnt get a kill because he doesn't crit, its because he is building wrong, crits not for lucky burst, its for additional sustained damage.
