Why am I not allowed to farm gold anymore?

Because of how fast pace the game is now, and fights break out in just a few short mins of the game. As support I can't really farm up to get any items to keep up with the game pace. Jungle also is always pressured to gank fast over farm other wise the towers get dropped. I remember when the term stay safe and farm meant something, but there is no such thing anymore. It feels like you always have to fight right away even if you don't have any fully built items yet. It also feels like you have to play certain champions over playing who ever you like. The reason for this is because a small amount of champs can do a lot of damage at very low levels, and if you don't pick those champs then your going to have the hardest time. Why? I thought the whole idea of all these champs is you could play who ever you wanted. I feel like I always have to play Anne, teemo, Braum, Morg, or anyone that has a very hard cc just to have a 50% chance at having some kind of a chance at the lane phase being ok. The game just feels so awful. The changes to the ruins, and mastery really feels like it hurt the game more then helped.
