Fiddlesticks as a mid-laner

i'm not sure if this could work but what if you build him full ap witth lots of movement speed and mana. you could poke the enemy's mid laner with your E. if your playing against an assassin like fizz, you play super safe and farm and when ever he engages you Q him and do your combo with W. if you're playing against an Ap caster you can poke him with E and since you'd build a lot of movement speed you go to him and Q while he's silenced and than drain or ult(terrified while ult channels) . and finally if the enemy jg ganks, Q him and run away or if you're fed Q him, go somewhere safe and ult for the double kill.

plz if this is not a good strategy help me find anew one that will use as he was my first champ and he means alot to me.

Middlesticks was the reason I started this game, however with time, it's just fallen out of favour. It's still possible, but he's better of in the jungle. That aside, if you do go mid, maxing E is always the way to go in the midlane. You alternate between Fear and Drain after. 2 points in Fear is good enough to be honest after that you just continue maxing Drain. item 3285 is a must. It gives great harass with E both in lane and in those moments when you want to get some early damage on the enemy before a teamfight. Plus MS is nice on Fiddle. item 3116 is something you can consider as it's just devastating in teamfights when you get a good ult. item 3157 is core. item 3135 / item 3001 either one of these is always good. item 3151 is another item you consider if you decide to get Rylai's. item 3089 isn't always a must, as he's one of the few mages that can do well without it. item 3152 is actually a decent pick up if you'd like extra sustain and minor CDR. Overall, he's quite flexible in terms of build path, it's just a matter of surviving lane and farming well.

RIOT PLEASE INCLUDE FIDDLE IN THE MAGE REWORK AND MAKE HIM MID, FIX THE PROBLEM WHERE HE DOESNT FIT ANYWHERE

It can be done. His wave clear time is what makes it difficult. If you love fiddle hes a decent support outside of jungle. :)

I played Middlesticks as a Kat counter last season and it worked out well. The problem was when Kat was dying to me in lane, she'd roam while the lane was shoved to her, so I took the mid tower, but she's go bot and clean up because they weren't warding and playing safe...

The only real problem with Fiddle mid is his horrid waveclear. It is one of the worst in the game. His dark wind should do double damage against minions, that would allow him to clear waves in a reasonable matter like 90% of the mids.

You should take him into jung with the new item if you want a high speed fiddle. Mid it could work as a specific counterpick to some assassins, but there's a lot of high range meta picks that will mess him up.
