Have a question for all the good players out there

I was playing Braum with a Tristana in a ranked game. Our mid laner Zed died 2 or 3 times to Yasuo before our first back. When we did back our minion wave was pushing under their turret. I decided to go mid lane to drop a ward and see if I could help get a gank on Yasuo. A little fight broke out and at the end of the day we were able to zone Yasuo. I then get some pings and in chat there is anger about me going mid because I should have stuck with my ADC. Now I made it back into bot about the time that the enemy team had my adc pinned under turret so perhaps a little late.

My question is did I make the right call going mid in the first place?

Depends on the opposing laners. You really can't afford to leave lane, against someone like Blitcrank / Alistar / Leona, otherwise they just all-in your ADC. If it's a more passive duo, like Jhin / Soraka, you can afford to roam a bit. It also kind of depends on how long you were gone, since your ADC would've gotten zoned.

If your adc isn't doing well then roaming afterr pushing is acceptable. Now if he is only do it when the other adc isn't their to push back the wave. Same thing with warding. When I see an opportunity I go get those crucial deep wards after my adc mops up cs. If you get a kill for the mid laner or jungler off a gank then don't be ashamed or let the adc get to you. You fed your team the adc should be back behind tower or sit near tri bush to get exp from wave instead of dying or you know dodging skill shots. More his fault if he dies, it is solo que. You can only peel so much.
