Please, please, PLEASE CANCEL YOUR ULTIMATE. If you've killed everyone in range, or miscast it at the wrong time, DO NOT WASTE SHOTS THAT WILL NOT CONNECT ON CHAMPIONS! Why? Because they do jack-all for waveclear, and, most importantly, FOR EVERY SHOT NOT USED, THE COOLDOWN IS REFUNDED PARTIALLY.

Augh, sorry. It just frustrates me so much when Jhins fire off into nothingness when they could have had thier ultimate up faster next time.
