Sion the Cowardly Champion?

According to the lore, is supposed to be some feared Noxian fighter with great strength and an undying thirst for battle. In addition, his quotes:

"Cowardice will be met with death"

"Noxus suffers no cowards"

etc...

Obviously makes him hate cowards and would rather die than be one. Then why is half of his kit pretty cowardly?

He shoots E's at people from a distance and never approaches unless hit (sometimes) and does this throughout his entire laning phase.

And we move on to his ultimate, why does it let him run away? Shouldn't it only activate when moving towards enemies or something along those lines?

should be an all in champion with no escapes, and I say his kit does not go well with what his lore makes him out to be.

Sion’s E is supposed to represent how you cannot hide behind others when facing him. He will find you and hurt you.

As for his ult, that’s the price of the ability to manuver it imo. Plus he’s not the only one who can use it to run. Just look at Kled.

Because landing E's is to facilitate aggression. And because the opposite of cowardly is not reckless. Nor is it irrational, self-destructive impulses.

And even if it was, even there was an issue, this is a game and Gameplay>Lore matching. It doesn't make sense to nerf a champion or make a champion have worse design in order to match a lore which can be effortlessly altered to fix any issue if there was one which there is not.

Most of the time people don’t really think about the lore when they are fighting in game, they just do what they have to do to win. If that means using sion’s ult to escape from a gank then so be it.

When even I played Sion I would mainly be using his ult to stop people from running away when they are low. If they are running away and flash, use ult to get an almost guaranteed knock up on the player.

Another example would be riot nerfing the general movement speed from tahm W (it used to not just be towards enemies) because its not fun to play against...but doesn't tahm feed on misery?

Can say the same with thresh...but he still works as intended with lore, not being able to click his lantern while being beaten to death is a very sadistic scene that I`m sure thresh enjoys. Imagine being ontop of what would save you from torment but you are simply mawed and ripped apart by a soldier with an axe, a vampire, a golem, and a feminist with a crossbow.

Although I agree, they didn't miss the mark with Sion. his kit isn't like... Inherently cowardly, you definately can and should play him to smash faces. His spells are meant for fighting.

Tyndamere on the other hand...
