Towers need to do mix or true damage

This has been said again and again, but Armor tanks are so much more cost efficient than MR tanks because towers basically heal them when hit. Either Towers do half magic and half attack damage or they just do true damage.

One of the preseason changes gives inhibitor turrets ramping armor pen until they functionally deal true damage. So, you can look forward to that, I guess.

AP and AD mixed damage sounds good. But with that, they need to make actual MR items of course.

I think it's base damage should be physical. But instead of an increase in physical damage, have the increased damage as true damage.

This still makes armor the better stat for handling turrets, but you will also need HP.

Hybrid damage everything! Caster minions should do magic damage, some jungle camps should do magic damage, and towers should do half magic damage. And dragon should do some. But might already with the DoT. Baron already does.

Tanks are yet penalized from the fact that building health is discouraged, let them at least have some utility in tank tower shots

They are fine the way they are, a "tank" is to tank, magic armor isnt a tank, and the tower doesnt need to be changed

Shot in the dark idea

What if instead of ramping up damage, towers did fixed damage (Albeit increase it in general) HOWEVER the ramping portion of the damage rapidly goes from 100% AD/0% True to 0% AD/ 100% True?

So every tower shot you tank slowly racks up the damage until the tower is essentially chunking you, regardless of armor/mr/whatever?

i think towers are strong enough honestly. here's something to consider:

MR items don't generally have a lot of MR. rather, they have some MR and some HP. the 500 hp from a banshees veil will scale with whatever armor you have to resist a turret. there's a reason mundo can tank turrets no problem with a spirit visage and warmogs ;)

armor items tend not to have hp, the exception being randuins. so if there was mixed damage then it would be the same issue except flipped, because MR tanks would get double resistances (hp and MR) to turrets while AR tanks would only get one resistance (armor)

Towers do way too much damage already. They do not need buffs, and giving them buffs would be stupid as hell and stagnate the game terribly.

So of course Riot is going to buff them out the ass.

Yeah towers need to be a thing that is equal for everyone. It shouldn't be if you build mr too bad, and an easy dive if you have armor.

Towers wouldn't be a good applicable source of true damage. This would not be fair because of minions and people buying some armor. If they did mix damage, that would be great but there would be the same amount of m damage and ad for the whole game

Percent HP True damage Or a base amount, whichever is higher. For example, we can keep the high damage towers do in the early game, but as the game goes on, the Percentage of HP would become the primary. Say they do 75 Ad and 75 AP damage base (scaling). They also do 10-15% per hit true damage if one's hp is higher than the base damage would do in effective hp.

Does that make sense? It makes sense in my head, but I dont think i wrote it correctly

i was thinking locket, banshees, and spirit visage also, people tend to build warmogs against ap comps because ap generally doesnt have the sustained damage to chew through it, but that one doesnt actually have mr so i'll concede it

I think Mixing would be good over all. After the first couple hits don't matter much even for a tank plus if it was half and half It would doing half as much AD damage. But then after say 3 hit it would be come noticeable and would be harder for tanks mid game to tank the whole turret down. Plus it would make having a AP tank be more meaning full, Like Leona and Amumu. As to minions that's a easy fix they could just have the Turret do double damage to minions.
