Deaths Dance VS Lifsteal, please help explain

So, what is the difference between say 15% lifesteal VS "Instantly heal for 15% of all physical damage dealt"

Isn't lifesteal instant? Is this saying that if you do physical damage with an ability you will heal for 15% of the damage deal? Does that also apply to things like Duskblade, when it does Nightfall, if you also have Deaths Dance? Or what about spell blade, will you heal 15% off the bonus damage done when you trigger spell blade?

I really feel like Riot could make things so much more clear.

Deaths dance will heal you when you do physical damage with abilities also. Lifesteal is only auto attacks

What about with spell blade? Will you heal off the bonus physical damage done by spell blade if you have deaths dance?

Yes. Anything that you deal physical damage with will trigger it.

Spellblade also works with Lifesteal, btw.

Lifesteal applies to the damage from Spellblade too.

basically a go to item for zed. clear an entire wave and get a nice 300+ hp.

death dance works with aa's and abilities.

What about spell blade? Or what about the bonus damage from Duskblade? Does it interact with other items like that?

Death's Dance works on ALL physical damage. Duskblade proc, Fervor of Battle, Aatrox' Blood Price.

Gunblade even goes a step further and works for ALL damage. And yes, that includes Sunfire Cape.

Let us look at Riven.

Rivne does a mix of physical damage abilitys and auto attacks.

IF Riven gets bloodthirster which gives life steal she is only healing off auto attacks but not off physical damage abilities.

If Riven gets deaths dance she will be healing off the physical damage abilities and the auto attacks.
