I have a question about MMR

So soon after I got in to plat 2, I went on a 4 loss streak. All at 0 lp. Right after this loss streak I go on a 4 win streak. What I have a question about is the lp gains I got, they are as follows; 21 20 9 (during the server problems yesterday) 17 What I want to know is why I keep getting less and less LP despite op.gg saying that I have a higher than average mmr (1980, avg is 1938) Also, I would like to know why I got 9 lp, I know the other team got a loss adverted and its probably being done for lp inflation. It was kind of disappointing winning a 4v5 against a team that wasn't getting lag problems only to get 9 lp.

When loss prevented is enabled, lp losses and mmr losses are reduced to 0, and LP gains and MMR gains are reduced to half, so the 9 would normally have been ~18.

Op.gg and similar are just mmr estimates, and don't necessarily reflect your actual mmr.

The precise amount you gain depends on the average mmr of those in the game relative to your division, so sometimes there can be a point or two of LP leeway in gains/losses if you happen to be matchmade with a higher/lower mmr'd group than what would be 'normal' for your mmr. (This happens occasionally as a side effect of premades, and can also sometimes happen if theres not that many people around your exact mmr in queue at the time, although this usually isn't as much of an issue except at the extremes of mmr.)
