Do the devs who balance this game actually play it?

I think Riot needs some new blood. I'm not a fan of the new changes, but the biggest one recently that bothers me was the trinket ward changes. The reason was 'it helps overwhelmingly helps winning teams'. No, they don't, they help losing teams more. Maybe if they actually played the game instead of watching the occasional pro match, they would realize wards don't win games, they stop you from losing them. If you are behind and have a dark map to look at, you're risking your game walking into your own jungle. Now, you can't even ward your own jungle, because if somehow your ward doesn't get cleared, it will expire before you can even replace it with another one. The map just goes dark late game if you are behind, to the point where I'm wondering 'why the hell isn't my team warding?', then I check their cooldowns and they have in fact been warding. It's ridiculous. It's not as obvious as giving 1000+ gold after a gank because of turret plating, or getting near one shotted by a Karthus ult with DH, but after experiencing the changes, I think this might be the one that bothers me the most

Did I mention it was also a stupid change for pros anyways? These dumb devs legitimately think it takes so long for those won games to get closed out because of wards? No, it's because Baron is a stupidly OP objective and the most reasonable way to win when ahead is to just wait for it to respawn (because if you're that far ahead you probably already got the first one) then push and win the game with a fight that was decided 10 minutes ago. Wards aren't the damn problem, they're just a tool to secure the objective that's the problem. All these changes will accomplish is making games longer, not shorter, since teams will be less willing to risk a baron throw with less vision.

I'm not alone in being unsatisfied with the game. I was unsatisfied before the season ended, and hoped that maybe Riot had learned from their mistakes and improve in preseason. Literally the only good change they made was choosing stat runes, everything else is trash that has made already significant problems worse.

You do realize losing teams can’t ward safely, meaning teams ahead actually do have the warding advantage with a) being stronger, so they crush anyone trying to get visions and b) can afford the spare gold to de-ward aggressively.

Winning teams therefore have the advantage using ward to get picks, the losing team has the option to play in base.

If you’re losing, you shouldn’t be rotating through the jungle, warded or not.

The reason was 'it helps overwhelmingly helps winning teams'.

No it wasn't?

"Prior to the preseason patch, teams that were ahead of the game got a higher edge with warding advantages. Riot Games is looking to even out the playing field by making vision rely less on individual champion levels, so snowballing compositions won’t snowball so hard."

The ward changes are supposed to help the losing team.

Rioters do play the game. :P Sometimes they'll play with people on the Boards, in the Boards Discord, or even do their own in-houses. I imagine they also play solo for fun sometimes, but I can't speak for people on that obviously since I'm no Rioter.
