How Do I shut down a Tryndamere style splitpush strategy?

I played some matches last night and lost 3 games all to the same strategy. I need to go ahead create a strategy for beating the splitpush offense.

In the first game I lost lane to a Tryndamere as Nasus top. He would face tank my damage popping his ult to take out turrets. He got 4 man ganked and still took out an inhib before going. This was a tough one had no idea what to do.

Next game same tryndamere disconnects first 5 minutes of the game. Comes back feeds 10 kills. Still splitpushes down turrets while my team is taking objectives and trying to push. In this game Tryndamere has a Master Yi following up his splits for some serious back door threat. We lost by a hair in this one.

Last game Jayce top. I win lane as Garen. Jayce stays top and pushes while I take objectives with team. He gets to our inhib. Before we stop him. Final team fight I learn not to pick a immobile top against Kalstya Jayce back doors while his team holds us back.

Now I'm not sure what to do about these splitpushes. I warded the push next to red that splitpushers like to hide in, and we still couldn't catch these splitpushers. Is high gold just not good enough to stop a suicide splitpusher? If that's the issue I'll gladly accept the losses and implement the strategy my self.

I feel like there is something I'm missing though. Help please. This is not a Tryndamere complaint thread.

Easiest way to stop a split pusher is to HAVE a split pusher. People complain that I do nothing late game except farm; but I'm not. That's what early and mid game are for. Late game I am counter-pushing their aatrox.

Geez creating a wall of text is easy I guess.

Now now, you've got distinct paragraphs. You're not so bad.

I think the answer is map awareness. Too often I get beaten by a split pusher because I see they're at a turret with a huge minion wave, and even if I tell my top laner to tele to it or I recall with homeguard and run out to the inhibitor turret, the turret is gone before you can do anything. The fault though was reacting too late, we should have seen that huge minion wave building 30 seconds earlier as it destroyed our previous minion wave, but we were busy fighting and didn't see a champion with the wave so didn't think anything of it.

I've started pinging every large wave I see, I think whenever a Lane is pushing against you and they have a split pusher, you're opening yourself up to give up a free objective.

Massive waveclear would help as well.

The crazy thing is, it wasn't even a huge wave. This guy was 100-0ing turrets with like 4 or 5 creeps. He sometimes face tanked them.

Part of the reason split pushing is even slightly easier than it was before the turret changes is because turrets are quite frankly weaker than they made then out to be. So allowing the enemy laner to split push all day (which happens frequently in many if not all of my games I've had this preseason) is dangerous. Basically what is comes down to is your team being able to coordinate better than theirs.

Too often I see in the Preseason many players (sometimes myself included) will just stall mid lane and not get an objective while they are split pushing, as if trying to force a fight but being too afraid. You have to make decisions quickly as a group and honestly it isnt that hard to stop split pushing in concept. You just have some member son the team rotate while the rest are careful in the other lane (or push). Sadly That doesnt happen often, there's too much indecisive behavior amiss.

I'd say pining would solve all your problems but even highly imploring teammates to take care of the splitpusher doesnt seem to work, especially in the lower elo matches. Splitpushers end up getting fed off free farm due to a false sense of security from the "winning" team. So next time make sure you can solo the guy and have a TP ready. If not make a concentrated effort to take a few turrets as a group.

Run TP. It's always annoying, but the issue with split pushing is that it only works if the rest of the team is skilled/fed enough to stagnate a 4v5 and the opposing team can't quickly redeploy to stop the split push. Additionally, taking objectives is obviously central but it's a lot easier if you apply pressure to all three lanes, or at least two lanes. Generally you want to shove all three lanes to at least the middle thereof before grouping and driving for an objective. If 1 person is split pushing, and your team is driving for one lane whilst having pushed another past the middle (whereupon it will push on its own), the opposing team will either have to send someone to the auto-pushing lane (leaving you with only three people guarding the objective), or the minions therein will take a tower/inhib/etc. If you have TP, you can wear down the target objective whilst an enemy split-pushes, then back off a little and TP to defend your own turret/inhib etc (just don't wait to long, go before the enemy gets to their objective).

Also, never let Nasus split, unless your team is so far ahead of the rest of his team that they can't mount an even remotely effective defense.

what is stopping the tryndamere from ignoring you after a certain point and just beating on your turret?

I take teleport and ignite on Malphite. Save your ult and then just nuke him with your MAL combo. He will have to back away or die.

summoner 12 is the best option and is always available. Homegaurd is a close second, and chops down your reaction time. item 3023 can stop a split-pusher from just running away and lets you punish them. Anyone with decent map control/roaming potential can take care of split-pushers. Think champions like Twisted Fate, Pantheon, or Assassin-like duelers.

In general, you can always just split-push, too. For every time you push back the wave, it's a longer amount of time they need to push it back to your tower. "Slow-Pushing" is a cheap and easy way to cut the time down on pushing you need to spend. Kill only the caster minions and the melee minions will tank the wave and let the one behind it catch up. It doesn't work as well if they just kill the farm before it reaches a tower, but it's still advantageous anyways.

The most reliable way to stop Tryndamere split push is to beat him in lane. Once he gets going he's difficult to stop. If you beat him in lane, you can split push on him, and he really isn't comfortable as a defender.

In general, a good split pusher will not get caught, and trying usually isn't productive. You just need to mark him -- make sure to clear the minions so he doesn't get any time under turret. As long as you are of comparable strength 1v1 or stronger, this works well. If the split pusher gets ahead, you'll need periodic attention from a teammate to help you keep the turret up.

Often this means you need to have teleport so you can join in teamfights. Typically, split push champions are super weak in teamfights, so if you can clear the wave and then teleport into a teamfight you can win the game, even if they manage to join in.
