Anyone remember Taliyah?
I don't think I've ever seen her picked, ever, and even going off op.gg she somehow manages to have higher pickrate overall compared to someone like Ziggs, who I have seen picked much more regularly. And in the JUNGLE of all places.
Why? How? What relevance does she even have? I've come up with a list of suggestions for improving her or reworking her in such a way that she feels more interactive to play as, and can actually function as a mage rather than a worthless gimmick champion with useless abilities.
Passive: I'm not sure theres much use from an out of combat passive that is so niche with such a demanding radius of effect. Even clicking in a straight line toward a lane along the bottom wall will path you away from the wall -just- enough to be out of range for the passive to function.
New passive: Rocky Road - Taliyah gains movement speed while on Worked Ground.
Q: I think this is fine as it is. I would only change Threaded Volley's interaction with Worked Ground being on a scaling duration and reducing the cooldown by 50% while on Worked Ground, similar to Casseopia's Twin Fang. It would be nice to see Worked Ground have a cooldown reduction mechanic letting her have more volleys over throwing pebbles.
W: It's fine, I like it.
E: Change this to have an interaction similar to Poppy's W where it will bounce back dashes and leaps once and applies the momentary knockup. Now she's relevant against champs like Riven or Jax!
R: This is my major point of contention, because it's a nice area of denial ultimate that can split a team rather well, but it's incredibly slow to wind up, and the riding mechanic is very buggy at best and borders on the non-functional at the worst.
Suggested change: Add a damage mechanic to the wall, or have Taliyah gain Unstoppable and ride the wall automatically as a functional escape or initiation move. Allow pressing R to trigger her off of the wall grant her an ability timilar to Talon's passive ONLY for her wall, so that instead of the random pushing direction off the wall, there's an option to cross it if you're dismounted in the wrong direction. Allowing her to pass her own wall once would be a massive QOL upgrade for what is otherwise a dead champion who never gets picked.
