How come when I am attempting to reconnect I don't return to base but fight cs or enemy champion?

Whenever I attempt to reconnect to game and this happens once a game, for some reason my champion doesn't return to base instead fights, I remember this wasn't the case before yet now it is. Which intelligent RIOT employees were behind this and what was their "logic"?
