@Riot, I want to say something about U.R.F.

I love it. I never played the first iteration but it's a blast, and it's really sad to see that the boards are full of posts complaining about U.R.F. even though it has only been out one day.

Just wanted to say I appreciate that you quietly polished up and re-released a fan-favorite mode. It's sad to see that so many people who were clamoring for the return of U.R.F. are already complaining about you guys delivering it to us. We can all agree that U.R.F has some balance issues, but I just want to let you guys know that many of us players actually appreciate that you guys brought back U.R.F., and we thank you for it.

Offering a balanced game experience isn't really what URF is about (or NURF for that matter). We do try to do that with SR, and occasionally we are successful. :)

URF and other game modes are about offering a different experience when you want to play League but also want something different. It's like going to your favorite restaurant and ordering the special of the day instead of that favorite order that you'll always go back to.

The team made some effort this year to make sure ridiculously OP champs aren't present every single game, but we also expect that players will get better at "solving" URF as time goes on and more champs will rise to the top. That's okay. If you want a more balanced game, that's what SR if for.

But don't you balance TT, CS & HA too?

Agreed. There are definitely certain champs that are much better than others in ARAM, but it's ok because ARAM is for taking a break from all the stress that can build up when you play SR all day, and that's what alternate game modes are for, offering a different experience that may not be balanced but are instead fun and refreshing.

Hey can I ask you something? I know Rioters generally have thick skin, but did it hurt when people started complaining about URF not being fun after a year of 'URF OR RIOT!'?

lol that's complete bullshit. If it wasn't about game balance you wouldn't have disabled champions last year / nerfed champions this year. If you're going to try to defend a shit gamemode, please at least try And we can see the "The team" didn't really try too hard to make sure the same champions weren't played every game I wish I could go 2 games without seeing a Zed, Lulu, or Maokai. Maybe next time "the team" will come up with something new instead of just recycling gamemodes from last year

The people complaining about URF have either:

Played it last year

or

Newfags trying to be cool.

Either way, you shouldn't let others affect how you feel about something (hence, no reason to make this thread)

Also possible:

It's just not our style.

We don't want to see Nidalee, Zed, Katarina, Shaco, Sona, Hecarim, Ezreal, Alistar every game.

3 minute Aram queues are not fun.

I like urf a lot. Wasn't around for it last time. I just wish people would be a bit more adventurous, and a bit less annoying, with their picks.

I wasn't clamoring for URF's return. I'm glad Riot did it; it was fun. I definitely don't want it to be a permanent mode, though.

meh, only had 4 games and i already got tired of it. It's either you stomp the enemy or they stomp you. if you like that type of style then great, i don't

I had a game o Urf recently and it was really close for 30 minutes. Our Wukong fed, and they're Bard fed. Everyone else was about even. It turned into a base race after a pretty even team fight. Prolly my favorite URF game I've had.

I think the balance issues are what Make U.R.F. so fun, that and the super friggen speed its running at.

I really don't think the people complaining are the same people who clamored for its return. I'm friends with a lot of the "clamorers" and we're all having a blast.

I think it's possible to love URF and still note its flaws, even if a lot of the complaints here feel a tad one-sided. Even after the meta solidified, and after people realized some champions were super-broken and started overplaying them, URF is still incredibly fun, and that's something that needs to be said more, but there are still ways it can improve, and that still needs to be pointed out (though in a constructive manner).
