need some help from sivir mains

So, the thing is, I'm a sivir main for quite some time now, and I'm doing really good with her, but I noticed that there's something that I lack and it's the early game laning phase.

Now, I'm doing VERY good with supports with kill potential, like blitz, leona, morg etc, once Im back with a bf sword my burst with q and w reset is enough. the problem is mainly with other supports, and its not much about the support but more about the fact that since sivir's buff I feel like im playing vayne, or tristana - just weak, knowing that my late game is huge. but what am I supposed to do during the laning phase? dueling with sivir early is a bad idea imo, she lacks damage early and she is perhaps one of the most item dependet adc in the game. should I push constantly? that's what I do most of the time when Im with a passive support, but I still find my self quite not playing sivir in the laning phase to her most potential, so I would like some sivir mains to give me some tips maybe, should i contantly use my w to zone and push for example?
