Aegis is only 20 magic resist while mantle is 25
So...is this supposed to be intentional? where I spent 500 for null magic mantle...and then I spend even more to get a DECREASE in magic resist? what gives?

Aegis gives the owner 40MR in total (20 from item + 20 from aura), so it's a net increase either way. It did the exact same thing even when it built out of Negatron Cloak, so why are you complaining now?
It gives you 20 from the item itself, plus the 20 from the Aura.
Aegis is that one item Riot hates because it gives the entire team tankiness
and Riot hates tankiness
I thought Aegis gives a passive 20 MR aura, so it would add up to a 15 points increase.
Feels like there are less and less good MR items with each patch. Three years ago I knew what to build when I wanted to be tanky and the other team had 2 or 3 ap. Now I'm not so sure. Every choice feels weak and limited. Might as well get more HP.
