petition to make turrets actually able to last.

ziggs satchel charge, tristana e, the incredibly easy to kill rift herald, the also very easy to kill baron and elder dragon, the bonus % additional true damage to turrets from mountain drake, rapidly increasing death timers, and the incredibly low offensive and defensive power of turrets. honestly if riot were to just work on all that stuff thats designed to make it ridiculously easy to destroy turrets, i dont think anyone would have a problem with the short game length anymore.

Oh is it already that time of the week to complain about Turret durability/game length?

its every time of week until it gets fixed

I don't think they're too hard to destroy, but I think repetitive shots should do more damage

thats the point, theyre not hard to destroy

"Petition to make games artificially longer without making them any more competitive."

"Petition to stop artificially making games shorter through an overload of innate aspects of the game and various champions that provide no real benefit to gameplay and thusly making games more competetive and strategic rather than a cheese-to-win-fest that lasts 20 minutes at a time."

I don't think it counts as fixing if literally everything you said was incorrect.

actually literally everything i said was entirely accurate. they ARE artificially making games shorter through all these additional mechanics and changes to tower stats and the rift herald and everything that boost game speed immensely, removing that would in fact lessen the forced artificial changes on the matches. there is in fact an overload of innate aspects to the game itself (the map, champion stats, turret stats, death timers, etc) that have frankly little benefit beyond increasing the speed of lane phase, pushing early grouping, enhancing the snowballing effect (aka pushing the early game meta harder). changing these problems so that it isnt so easy peasy to take out turrets and objectives and push lanes would force players to play with more strategy because the binary "cheese early and win" mindset wont necessarily always work. its pretty basic. right now, if i were to play top lane and got rift herald with my jungler and killed the enemy laner i would have a guaranteed turret destroyed, no questions asked, unless at least 1 or 2 people came to stop it. now if i die top lane after like level 6 i can assume that my tower will either be destroyed or almost destroyed. bot lane is even worse, if one side gets a clean win the support and adc can very easily take out the turret in one swoop after first item (if even that long). this kind of stuff didnt used to be a problem. losing one team fight didnt used to cost you 2 towers and an inhibitor. diving a turret used to be a big deal to be able to do and live, now its almost expected.

They made changes that make early leads more snowbally and leads to games that end faster. Nothing about that is artificial or unintentional. Rift Herald was added precisely so that teams with early leads could pressure harder and end sooner. Towers were made weaker precisely so that teams that were already behind would lose the game faster. Teams that are getting destroyed taking another 15 minutes to actually lose the game was a real problem that didn't add to gameplay in any real way while significantly adding to the frustration factor for losing teams since they're stuck in that game for so long. Hell, this is precisely why Riot added a 15 minute surrender, because any game where a whole team wants to quit at 15 minutes clearly isn't worth playing a moment longer.

Late game may hit sooner than it used to but that is true for both teams, not just the winning team. "Stall for late game" teams now only need to stall until 30-35 minutes, not 40+ minutes. Early game teams may snowball harder than before but they also have a much shorter window to actually abuse their lead. Hell, increases to passive gold actually make gold leads from getting fed less valuable, not more. All Riot has done with these changes the past 2 seasons is make uneven games sooner while compressing the average game into a few minutes less time. Actual good matches still go on long like they deserve to while stomps end mercifully early. What about that is bad to you? What about inevitably losing a game in 30 minutes instead of 25 minutes is preferable to you? Do you like getting KDA farmed for another 5 minutes until the enemy can actually end? Because that's how it used to be.

i know very well how it used to be, in fact i quite liked how it used to be. granted there was a time where it was out of hand and your typical game could very easily go 40+ minutes (even some 90 min games in there from time to time). however, usually games were over naturally between 25-40 minutes, which honestly is the optimal time frame. i miss being able to turtle in base or under my lane turret until i had enough gold to get the items i needed to actually do something, which happened frequently. thats the thing that youre missing. early game ends still happened, people still could win at 20 minutes and sometimes if it was enough of a stop they could even win at 15, but now riot has designed it so that comebacks are incredibly rare, playing defensive means delaying losing the game a little longer, and i actually go into games expecting them to be over in 20-25 minutes. also late game was not sped up, just what is now perceived as late game. i still dont usually get my full build until 35+ minutes, in fact riot even has taken to balancing late game champions around the new time frame so the game can stay sped up but late game champions arent completely unviable. i think its actually healthy for a team thats losing terribly to have the ability to come back and win. where it stands now its extremely rare for a team that got stomped early to come back in anything but a throw, but before if you played smart enough an early disadvantage wasnt even that enormous of a big deal unless it was a big gap. i feel like youre of the opinion that every game should be as simple as if one team is winning they should be able to hurry and win, and in some games i would agree that they should be like that but league is definitely not one of them. imo the biggest offender is rift herald. if you ask me they should either remove it or make it extremely hard to kill because right now its easy to kill and extremely powerful to have. its really not healthy, there wasnt any need for it. quite honestly if they took it out along with the turret interaction on the ziggs w and tristana e i think i would be satisfied tbh.

ps: 5 minutes extra of VOLUNTARILY continuing a game by not surrendering is very much preferable to 15 minutes of feeling like i wasted my time because theyve been in my base in 2 lanes since 9 minutes (i frequently find one team in the others base before 10 minutes).
