Idea for rotating game mode Play pre-rework champs or old school league

Hi it could be nice to be able to play in some rotating game mode an old version of league. I know it wouldnt be as fun or epic as some other rotating game mode but it would be nice for all the hard base of dedicated fan that sticked with the game for so long. It would also be great for newer player to experience what league was like back in the day. It could be an event over several week where people can play from beta to season 7. Passing through the different meta that shaped league of legend to what it became today. Kind of a yearly anniversary thing.

Its just that with online gaming, especialy an ever evolving game like league, it's impossible to play older version. And maybe newer staff at riot could discover a few things from precedent season like those new /old items that are brought back.

That's be an incredible hassle to set up. You'd need a new server infrastructure and client for that to work. And if Riot doesn't have backups of their old game versions they'd have to rewrite the entire game from scratch as well (They'll have backups up till a few pacthes back in case of an emergency, but S2 or 3? Very unlikely). In other words, not going to happen.

Nah it's a legitimate concern and something they addressed a while in an Ask Riot article. Mimr's not being a negative nancy, they're being realistic.

No, it's having knowledge about application development and maintenance processes. Yes, it's possible to do and it would be nice to have, but it would cost WAY too much resources to set up and maintain compared to the gains.

Imagine a game mode where every 5 minutes it changed to a random patch. Start at 8.4 5 minutes later 2.0 5 minutes later 5. Ect ect.

The chaos would be interesting if nothing else. I know it would be a pain in the ass to set up, but still lolz would ensue. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Just not the same. Different voice, look and feeling also the barrels are not my cup of tea. I'll agree he is "competitive" and more viable but he used to be my fun champ. The one I could go into a normals and go crit and make that money. miss my jolly old pirate.

Great mind thinks alike they say, can you send a link to it ? There will be many more thinking about this, since every like to play some old retro game from time to time ( I'm playing Heroes of Might and magic 3 right now between league session)
