I'm interested in graphical and UX design, but i was a bit confused when @Riot changed this page. It seemed like a reduction in use and friendliness to me, but im just a newb. I know im just a small lowly curious amateur but i was hoping maybe someone could take the time to explain to me the benefits of the new design? (I know its not really that new anymore, sry i procrastinated on posting this)

I agree with that. The reason is not to make it more useful or better and more friendly to the user. It was changed to sell the upcoming Paid Achievements to you. It's so whatever you click on in the champions page, the first thing you will see is a reminder that you haven't bought them yet, it's to say you are missing out so you should go put down money on something that is basic feature for free in modern games, including free-to-play games, but will instead cost hundreds here.

That's why it was changed and also why I have stopped using it, it's far worse to use.
