Where is the trade off?

There should always be a trade off between toughness:damage:utility. That is why the mastery system is broken up into 3 categories! so please tell me why there isnt a trade off in the item category? The tank items item 3053 item 3742 item 3156 give too much damage for the champions they are geared towards who naturally have a lot of toughness and utility in their kits! Tank meta is not ok.

But its not just tanks that get items that are disproportionate to their individual strengths, ever try adc sona? no you havent,_ dont knock it till you try it_ (end build includes: item 3042 item 3078 item 3508 item 3072 ), works better than you would think, you honestly dont notice the lack of damage except maybe in the first few levels, and you have so much utility that it works fairly decently. i wouldnt take it into ranked, but it is still an example of items working disproportionately to what it should be doing. This is significant because im not some retard just complaining about tank meta because i cant deal with it. Dont get me wrong, adc sona was a troll idea i and i do not actually recommend it. I just played it for shits and giggles. But the problem is that it dishes out WAY too much damage for what it should be!

TL;DR Riot needs to restore the balance between Toughtness:Damage:Utility and the way to do this is to make items that only increase a champions latent abilities rather than accenting their latent ability and giving them a ton of other power basically out of nowhere.

P.S. i understand what im asking for is probably a total game rework and the start of a season might not be the time for this, but i hope riot keeps this in the back of their minds for season 7.

Deadman's plate is a tank/fighter item. The other two are not tank items at all nor are they conducive to a tank meta.

Sterak's Gage is a tank item and was made for tanks.

Also, just because an item (like Maw of Malmortis) isn't designed for a tank, doesn't mean it can't be used on one or is ineffective on one.

Take the new AD item Duskblade for example. It was designed specifically for ADCs, and not once have I ever seen an ADC use it, only mid lane AD assassins like Zed.

its an item for heavy fighters, or juggernauts. whatever you want to call them.

the tradeoff for these champions is in utility. they have very little to no mobility, and very little to nothing by way of cc. theyre basically slow moving, tanky melee carries.

think nasus.

Bruisers* Don't give in to riot changing it to fighters :c

what trade off? deadmans plate basically give mobility boots AND damage AND tankiness almost to the point where i would consider it on most champions regardless of the role. also it gives some cc.

also, nasus has a rediculous slow and they usually run ghost so they can chase.

But steraks gage is rediculous on champions like poppy, garen and illaoi who dish out more than their fair share of damage, have decent to excellent mobility (less so for illaoi) and then they get this massive shield. i mean i guess they arent getting bonus move speed from the item, but it works disproportionately for tough fighters because while the ad they get is nice, the extra health/absorb they get is almost good enough on its own without the ad to make them a tank, then they get this bonus attack stat. Pile all of this on with a fighter's naturally high mobility, and you have a champion that has no weaknesses

good that you mention garen and illaoi. these are exactly the champions this item is made for.

the only way for them to be effective is if they somehow manage to get into the middle of the enemy team. steraks is supposed to help them survive burst damage at least for a while before going down, and allow them top do their job. because if they dont get into the middle of the enemy team theyre in return entirely ineffective.

the item isnt ridiculous on them, it does exactly what its supposed to. and theyre not too strong with it, even though its part of their core builds right now.

now steraks on adc to become immune to burst damage when caught out of position, even though they dont have to rely on putting themselves directly in danger to be effective, thats the real issue and why it should be a melee only item.

The thing is, point in mentioning them was that they dont need the bonus ad, steraks gives on average between 20-25 ad, but if it was 15 flat ad, it would still be a fantastic item on them without the ad, so lets make the item more balanced by nerfing!

no. what the fuck. they need the ad, because their job is to carry. their builds are supposed to include a mix of offense and defense and steraks helps with that. thats why clever also grants a mix of ad and health and synergizes best with these champions.

especially flat ad is a dumb idea, because steraks is made to scale off base ad, so its stronger on bruisers than on adc or assassins, since they usually have higher base ad.

darius and garen get around 35 ad for the passive, and around 70 while the shield procs. adc get around 25 out of it, for comparison.
