@Riot: You guys need to buff Traditional Supports, They are no longer relevant to the game.
It competitive play, old style healing/shielding supports are no longer seen. We're seeing more Annie/Nautilus/Leona/Blitzcrank/Vel'koz/Lulu/Morg , the only old style support seen is Janna and that's because of her ad shield scalings and that shes the only champ that can shield turrets and Nami because she's got a similar disengage kit like janna. I only seen sona when her new skin came out, haven't seen a taric all year except in ARAM and Nemesis, Soraka has lost every game I've seen her in, i've seen some Lux and Karma but they usually lose lane to thresh/blitz. I saw 2 bard's but they had no presence in the game. haven't seen Kayle all year either even though she's an aggressive support like Nidalee.
- Let other champs shield turrets. This would definitely give more strategic diversity to utility mages like Lux Karma and Orianna.
- Healing spells need lower costs. Since healing has been nerfed to a huge extent, there really should be a compensation for the mana costs especially soraka who pays both health and mana.
- Bring other support to the Thresh/Leona/Annie/Blitz/Morg Bar. Thresh is the main reason why support and support itemization changed so much because his passive allowed him to get free armor and ap and still have support itemization and carry games with it. That and with the fact thresh can do everything required of a support (peel, disengage, cc for days, clutch save). The other offenders are kill lane supports that weren't intended for bot lane and are still strong in single lanes. Essentially what riot needs to do is "Lulu" other supports to the point where they can hold up in solo lanes because some supports are just not good 1v1 they have neither the cc or the damage to deal with heavy engage tanks like we're seeing steady in 2 years of meta.
I'm glad there is more support diversity but it's weird that the top 2 support champs 3 years back Soraka and Sona are barely picked up anymore and have seen no competitive play.
