Summer 2016 - Fantasy Week 5 Discussion

Hi there!

The purpose of this forum is exactly what the title describes: to help people set up their best line up possible heading into the next week of games. We've all experienced a moment where we are choosing between two players, not sure which one will have the better turn-out with regards to their current match-ups, their record, if their on a losing streak, new subs of the team, etc. This can now become a place where the fantasy community can help each other out with their rosters so that they are receiving their full potential each and every week. This can also be a place to discuss possible Add/Drop possibilities. Anyway, everyone can understand the purpose behind this forum now.

Just simply post a question about who you are deciding between, along with your reasoning's behind why you should and shouldn't start them. Then hopefully a fellow fantasy community member will be able to respond and help you make your decision. Anyone can help out! Multiple opinions and beliefs are better than just one! Remember, Strength in numbers.

Disclaimer: Human beings cannot foresee the future, everything posted on here are just calculated predictions/opinions.

Hopefully this now provides a means for all of us as a community to help each other in achieving the glorious 1st place spot in your respected leagues, along with the entitled sensation of "Bragging Rights." Best of luck to all of you! #FantasyLCS #DecisionsAreHard

First and foremost, I am very sorry I was unable to post a week 4 discussion. However, my grandfather passed away last week and family has been my number one priority.

That being said, I don't want to leave you guys hanging this week. I wasn't able to watch most of the games last week, but based off of the statistics, here is who I deem sleeper worthy this week.

NA: APEX

Apex is notorious for their longer games this split. Even though most LCS games seem to end up in the late game anyways, APEX seems to reign king for longest match times. Now, whether this is a blessing or a curse, it has been proving to help them on the side of fantasy the previous weeks. They have scored fairly well, and now they face a bloodthirsty IM and the NA punching bag PH1. If they are able to stand toe to toe with IM, they can easily rack up some serious points this week.

EU: FC 04

Whether you consider them a sleeper or not is up to you, but less than 40% of the fantasy population are starting these guys, and they have been red hot these past two weeks. We're talking 80+pt weeks here folks! And now they face VIT and UOL, both of which are lower than FC on the standings. Now I know this is EU, BUT! If logic can hold on and live through this week, then FC 04 should have no issue racking up another 80+ point week here. Give these players a chance, they've been working hard. they're might not be a better week to start these guys in the future.

Feel free to post questions in the comments below, Ill try my best to get to them all in due time.

Once again, sorry about last week.

Hey Nural,

Sorry to hear the sad news. No worries about last week. I'm doing my best amateur impersonation of an analyst to point people in a general direction.

I totally agree with these 2 sleeper teams. But only for a handful of their players - Mainly Top, ADC, & Mid.

Junglers from both teams look like they'll end up with pretty average scores compared to all other Junglers (~60) Supports both doing slightly better (~65) Mid both look like they'll get very decent points (~80) But there is a disparity between the teams for Top and ADC. Rallez > Apollo (~80 > ~70) Ray > Steve (~75 > ~65)

First, I'm really sorry for your loss. We all really appreciate what you do. Second, Ninja or Kobbe for flex and Meteos or Reignover in the jungle? Thanks

What do you think about H2K players this week? In the past, it seems like Origen has a formula for stomping the team. Granted, their roster is significantly weaker. That being said, here's my current dilemma.

Top: Hauntzer Jung: Reignover Mid: Fox ADC: LOD Supp: Adrian Flex: Stixxay Team: TSM Alts: Odoamne, Ryu, Dardoch

My big concern is if I should actually bench my H2K guys.

P.S. I hope you and your family are doing well during this tough time.

Sorry to hear about your grandfather Nural, you have nothing to apologise for. I actually posted a thread for Week 4 using your format, and while it didn't generate any comments, I hope it gave some guidance to those who were looking out for your thread.

My current roster (scoring is First Two Games):

Top: Odoamne | Expect Jungle: Spirit | Shook Mid: Bjergsen | Keane AD: WildTurtle | Steeelback Support: Mithy Team: TSM

After much deliberation and multiple trade attempts from my friend, I finally decided to part with Adrian in favour of Mithy. I based this decision on where the two teams prioritise their resources - G2 tend to play around their botlane which is, without a doubt, the strongest in Europe. On the flip side, Immortals focus on getting Huni, and more recently, Pobelter ahead (especially via Reignover's jungle pressure) whilst leaving WildTurtle and Adrian to farm for 20 minutes. Having said this, I do believe Immortals are the better team, especially relative to their region, bu we'll see how this pans out.

In terms of spicier trades, I finally lost patience with Ohq after his underwhelming performance vs P1 last week and managed to swing a deal where I acquired Piglet in return. I knew there was a risk that fabbbbby would continue as starter, but since I was going to drop Ohq into free agency anyway, I decided to take a chance. However, not 24 hours after this trade I learned (via a post on Reddit) that Piglet was unlikely to start again for the remainder of the split - this wasn't officially announced, but based on Dardoch and fabbbbby's comments, it's not looking good. As such, I picked up Steeelback. There really aren't many AD options in our league's free agency - I owned both MrRalleZ and Kobbe in W2/W3 respectively, but they have since been picked up by other teams (I suppose that's what I get for keeping faith in Ohq rather than replacing him). I picked up WildTurtle in a trade for Biofrost before W4.

Finally, Shook was my under the radar pickup for this week. I am biased because I support Vitality (or basically whichever team KaSing plays for), but I'm hopeful that he can help them to turn things around this split.

That's the state of play for myself. I suppose I don't really have any questions, I just wanted to get your thoughts on some of my trade/free agency decisions. Actually, any input on the starting lineup for my matchup this week would be appreciated:

My starting lineup (scoring is First Two Games):

Top: Odoamne Jungle: Shook Mid: Bjergsen AD: WildTurtle Support: Mithy Flex: Keane Team: TSM Bench: Spirit | Steeelback | Expect

Opponent's starting lineup:

Top: Hauntzer Jungle: Jankos Mid: Febiven AD: Rekkles Support: Yellowstar Flex: Jensen Team: IMT Bench: Cabochard | Freeze | KiwiiKid

My housemate is, unsurprisingly, a Fnatic fan...and the highest scoring player overall, but is only second due to a < 10 point loss in Week 2. Other than Cabo (who he used before acquiring Kevin), I'm pretty sure he hasn't utilised his bench at all. It's a shame that Freeze has been relegated to the bench week in week out, but my housemate is also unwilling to give him up since he's a potential threat.

Thanks in advance!

Chow

Well, it appears my gamble to back G2 over FNC has paid off! Mithy scored more than my housemate's Febi | Rekkles | Bora trio combined. :D

EU LCS - Europeland Undergoes Logic Cessation Surprise

Ended up scoring 481.92 points off the back of Bjerg's 100+ point performance and winning my matchup (3rd vs 2nd) by nearly 200 points. My only concern for next week is who to bring in as flex. While APX have NRG, I'm reluctant to leave Keane in since they also have TSM, and having seen Keane score so poorly against IMT this week, I don't see that changing against the other top team in NA. My bench consists of Odo, Shook and Steeelback at the moment, so I may have to dip into free agency.
