Petition for Riot to release Replays of LCS matches * /r/leagueoflegends

Have you ever been watching an LCS game where Wicked picks your favorite champion, only to have the observer and commentators focus on jungle and bot lane skirmishes until 15 minutes before mentioning " and WOW Wicked is up 30cs top lane." ... I have. Have you ever wondered what skills Lemon Nation leveled up first playing support? ... I have. Have you ever wondered what Bjergsen's total AP was when he completed full items on Syndra? ... I have. Have you ever wished you could watch the how a specific pro always seems to win lane with a champion you just can't figure out? ... You get the idea.

Watching LCS is great don't get me wrong, and I LOVE the production value riot puts into streaming live games(In-game replays are the shit!!). But too often in a game of objectives the observer focus on well, the action. This is good, but you very rarely get to see how individual players play the lane, or how they manage minion waves, or how the level their skills(unless your lucky and the observer clicks them).

You might be thinking to yourself, replays? When did riot implement replays? Well, they haven't... yet.riotplz But for many players dedicated to self-improvement LOL Replays provides a useable replay system for recording and analyzing personal games. BUT, what's better than analyzing your own games for improvement? Analyzing the PRO GAMES!!!

What's better yet, is this really isn't such a big request. Since the replay infrastructure is already in place, (LOL Replays) only a simple download onto an extra spectator computer would provide riot with a replay in a widely distributable format, with a distribution platform in only a few mouse clicks.

I will guarantee that if riot puts LCS replays available for download they will be watched, even if it's only by me and opposing team's coaches. The pro teams all use replays during their scrims, as players trying to improve our game we deserve to have access to some professional level replays.

Vote, comment, spam, and type IN ALL CAPS! If you would like to see LCS replays for the 2015 season.

TL;DR Riot, LOL Replays, 2015 season, PLZ

P.S. With fantasy LCS happening watching replays will be the best way to scout your team or possible replacements before they become mainstream. ;)

DotA 2 has a fully functional replay system and live spectate feature of their International tournament, allowing you the spectator to watch the game controlling the camera as you feel.

Riot games has Poro's.

I agree with this a thousand times over. I would love to study the pros and pick some things up that you may not catch in the stream. I hope this idea catches ground.

"Have you ever wondered what Bjergsen's total AP was when he completed full items on Syndra? ..."

lmao, people still care about the number of AP you can hit at full build?

This would be nice. If Rito could do this where they just upload a copy of the game session for each match then this could be possible without monetizing it...then again, they'll probably want to monetize it but it's a nice suggestion :D

For similar reasons the challenger/diamond tier games you can watch are stupid... most of the times it's more than 8 mins into the game, making watching the early game of certain lane setups totally unintresting. Instresting are the key elemenets of the laning... the first pokes, the first level ups, the ressource sustain, etc. etc. not to know: oh, after 8min LB is 20cs in lead against Ahri... wow, that's totally not gonna make you watch something you can learn something about the mechanics.

My best guess would be: I was pretty sure to have seen some glitches/bugs in some LCS games... if we had the replay, we could "proof" them and making a public riot about it... (pun intended)

Agreed . This is something i have been wanting for a long time. LCS coverage is great for understanding the meta but does nothing to help understand individual skill. I want to how beijrgsen manipulates the creep wave and puts down harass. How should a proper spell rotation be executed. I want to see how a jungle camp should be properly taken down. These things cant be learned with regular match coverage.

I think the problem with Replay for LCS is that they are always 1 patch behind the current client. When that happens, playing the replay can have problems/errors/bugs because your client on your machine is "newer" in terms of patches than what they are playing on.

you pay to play dota so they have better services and more empolyees.... league of legends is free $30/person vs $0/person

dota prize pool=$18mil yourself https://www.dota2.com/international/compendium/

league of legends prize pool=$1 mil split among 5players+coach (apologies i forgot to add one more person) http://na.lolesports.com/articles/everything-you-need-know-about-2015-world-championship

you are asking mcdonalds to make you a grass fed free range steak.....

I agree it would be nice to see all the info, runes masteries keybindings etc. Replays would be great.

Please do it already, I need to laugh at the tanky top laners trying to exchange health with each other. But in all seriousness, this isn't a bad idea.

I'm sure Riot will release replays of LC$ when they figure out how to monetize it, probably by streaming it with ads or something.
