UPDATE: Due to the recent changes in the boards layout, Ill be posting all fantasy related topics in the Esports section of the boards, on top of this section as well, come the spring! :D

REMINDER: The chart was created to represent draft decisions prior to week 1. IT DOES NOT REFLECT MY OPINIONS TOWARDS THE END OF THE SPLIT!

WELCOME BACK EVERYONE!

Oh yes, its that time again. The 2015 summer split is finally upon us, with a brand new fantasy season to go along with it! And with a new fantasy season, everyone starts from scratch, (Aka, the draft.) A lot has changed since the end of the spring split, with roster changes and three new teams being added into the LCS mix. So with this in mind, this forum here is all about discussing the draft, from potential picks to draft ideology.

Personally, I have attached a screenshot of my draft cheat sheet below. This cheat sheet consists of all of the known players in the 2015 summer LCS known to date. (Granted, there are still some roster changes to be locked in, but those will be updated in due time.) Feel free to use this cheat sheet when coming up with your own strategy!

(Please refer to the draft cheat sheet during the following explanation... Prepare for a lot of text!)

The draft cheat sheet is set up in a Tier Format. What this means is that I have all of the players listed in different tiers in their respected positions (20 players per position). There are four tiers I am referring to. Tier S being the best of the best, and with Tier C being the worst fantasy wise. See in fantasy, most of the players roughly perform at the same level as their fellow opponents in fantasy scoring. For example, lets look at Doublelift, Apollo, and Hjarnan. Looking at the Spring Split Statistics, Apollo had an average of 20.13 points per game, Hjarnan with 20.01 points per game, and Doublelift with 19.93 points per game. Statistically speaking, they all, in the end, performed at the same level as one another, and therefore are in the same tier as each-other. And this is beauty behind the tier system, it makes visualizing the playing field very simple.

So hypothetically speaking, lets say its your turn to draft, and you see that Bjergsen, Febiven, and WildTurtle are off the board. You could go an pick a Tier A mid or ADC; OR you can go pick up a Tier S jungler, top, or support instead, knowing that there most likely will be a Tier A mid or adc when your next pick comes around. This is the beauty of the tier system. (Hopefully this all made sense haha).

But more importantly, this is a place where we can all discuss potential picks with the community and help each other out in our pre-draft strategy! Please feel free to post and questions or comments you have below!

Some Draft Tips:

  1. You should focus on getting a strong mid laner and/or ADC in the first round. (Mid and ADC usually are your most consistent form of points during the season.)

  2. DO NOT DRAFT A TEAM EARLY ON. Your points are going to be coming from your individual players, rather than your team slot. The earliest you should draft your team is round six. Use the rounds before that to get some really strong players, even if it means doubling up and getting another mid/adc/etc. P.S: Do not have two teams on your roster. Save that bench spot for another player. (You can always swap your team during the split if need be).

  3. Your goal is to have two mid slots, two ADC , two Jungle, two Top, a support, and a team. (Depending on your situation, it may be better to get 2 Supports and just 1 top laner.) The important part though is having two MID, ADC, and JUNG slots.

  4. Make sure you always have a plan B in-between draft picks. If your next pick gets taken, don’t panic, because you don’t have enough time for you to panic. Make your selection…. And THEN you can freak out about how you didn’t get your pick haha :D

  5. If you ever are having a hard time deciding between two players, go with your gut. Usually your first gut decision is the better one. (If it turns out to be a bust… well then that’s what Add/Drop is for :D) P.S: As a general rule of thumb, its better to be safe than sorry when drafting. You can pick up more risky players after scouting them. (See below)

A REALLY IMPORTANT General Note:

You are not going to be able to draft the perfect team right out of the gate. We can look at all of the statistics and research all we want, but no one knows for sure whose going to be hot, and whose going to be not as hot. That’s why its so important to scout during these first couple of weeks, especially the first week. If you don’t do so hot in your first week, find the weak points in your roster, and use the Add/Drop feature to strengthen those spots to the best of your ability. In my opinion, Scouting is the most important part to a successful fantasy roster.

Welcome Back! GL GL!

Hey guys!

So an idea popped in my head today and I wanted to throw it out to you guys and see whether or not you would all be for it or not.

The idea is that I would host a weekly Fantasy LCS show where it would give me a chance to talk to the community. (Like it would be every monday or so). I've never used twitch before, so it wouldn't be anything spectacular, (or at least not at first), but it would give me a chance to really sit down and tell you guys all of my opinions and etc. Because the thing is, I try my best to give a very condensed version of my analysis here on the boards and not to overload you all with a massive text block. (Because lets be honest, who wants to read a novel of text...) But with this format, I feel like I could give you guys my analysis on each of the teams and my reasoning in much greater detail. Plus I would also answer any questions you have right there from the twitch chat!

Dont worry, I will still continue to write these discussion forums on here, but this way I feel I can really give you guys more bang for your buck when it comes to analysis heading into each and every week!

So please let me know whether or not this would be a good idea! If there is enough support, Ill try my best to make it happen!

Cheers!

And where is Steelback going for the summer???

kujiesar5/15/2015, 3:49:27 AM1 votes

Hey Nural, I read your power rankings sheet and I was wondering why you have a lot of TSM up over some other players with higher recorded PPG last split. Just wondering why you rank them a little higher than their spring split stats dictate. does it have something to do with the regional difference? Or maybe their strong post season (well accept for MSI of course)? Clue me in if you could, thanks.

I actually don't agree with your adc choices if your gonna have sneaky and altec (since altec replaced cop) in b tier i'd put freeze there since i doubt we have many weeks of cw going crazy this split.. but hey i could be wrong. I also believe forgiven and rekkles should be higher up just because rekkles and yellowstar in summer 2014 proved they are probably the best bot lane in eu and forg1ven stands on his own even when his team does bad

My draft

Very happy i got Huni and Forgiven, very hopeful for TIP as well. The only question mark currently is altec, and thats mostly because I think altec will preform well with a mechanically proficient support like bunny. Cant wait to see how the season unfolds!

Hey Nural! I kinda got punished in the drafting, I still got my hands on Bjergsen, and huni! So thats really good! but I was not expecting my opponent for this week to go full out FNC. Really I should have seen this coming for their amazing (fantasy point wise) week.

My team, I need a few tips for who I should put in for my jungle and support and ADC. I love Xpeke so im'a leave him for my flex, unless you think that that is a really dumb idea. top---HUNI (HUNI HUNI HUNI) jng----Amazing. ( I can never figure out who I should take. I wanted reignover, but he was taken by my opponent.) mid---Bjergsen (Im VERY happy with this) sup---NRATED (again, help? I don't know who I should put in.) adc---Hjarnan ( all together a good adc, but again i'm scared cause I don't know much about his team.) flex---Xpeke ( I'm all aboard that ORIGEN train) team--- CLG ( I think this is fine)

My opponents team

top---IMPACT (TIP) jng---reignover (FNC) mid---FEBIVEN (FNC) sup---yellowstar (FNC) adc---appolo (TIP) team--TIP

As you can see he is very FNC and TIP heavy. I don't have any TIP players, and the only FNC player I have is HUNI. What do I put in for my jungle support, and adc? FNC has a super strong week 1 and I need some way of getting points off that. PLEASE HELP! Thanks for the awesome advise in advance. Hope you don't get to summoner 3ed from reading all these comments!

This makes me excited :D Really curious to see how the new C9 does with Incarnation. High expectations for NME and OG, low for TDK. Not on board the Rekkles-FNC train yet... We'll see!

What teams or players would be the best to start this week? Can I do any better?

Super G6/7/2015, 7:59:38 PM1 votes

When do you post your weekly analysis? Do you start writing after all the matches have finished, or are you writing down notes and forming your analysis throughout the games and post at the end?

wildturtle Tier S ADC while piglet Tier B?

hahahaha is this a joke or what

kujiesar5/14/2015, 12:12:22 AM1 votes

What do you guys see as the best number 1 pick? Maybe continue off of that with like #2, #3, etc.? I have some ideas that sound good in my head but I want to compare them with some outside advice. I don't know if this makes a difference, but I will be drafting in an 8 man league.
