Summer 2015 Starters Discussion & Week 8 Analysis (Who Do You Start Week 9?)

Hi there!

Ok, so the purpose of this forum is exactly what the title describes, to help people set up their best line up possible heading into the next week of games. We've all experienced a moment where we are choosing between two players, not sure which one will have the better turn-out with regards to their current match-ups, their record, if their on a losing streak, new subs of the team, etc. This can now become a place where the fantasy community can help each other out with their rosters so that they are receiving their full potential each and every week. This can also be a place to discuss possible Add/Drop possibilities. Anyway, everyone can understand the purpose behind this forum now.

Just simply post a question about who you are deciding between, along with your reasonings behind why you should and shouldn't start them. Then hopefully a fellow fantasy community member will be able to respond and help you make your decision. Anyone can help out! Multiple opinions and beliefs are better than just one! Remember, Strength in numbers.

Disclaimer: Human beings cannot foresee the future, everything posted on here are just calculated predictions/opinions.

Hopefully this now provides a means for all of us as a community to help each other in achieving the glorious 1st place spot in your respected leagues, along with the entitled sensation of "Bragging Rights." Best of luck to all of you! #FantasyLCS #DecisionsAreHard

First and foremost, I apologize for the late posting this week. Im currently amiss another finals week and grades are kinda important. Therefore, my time is pretty occupied for the time being!...

But with that being said, we're finally here. The final week. Everything has been leading up to this. There are a lucky few of you who have already clinched 1st place along with the coveted title of "Bragging Rights", and so I tip my hat to those of you lucky few. You should celebrate by starting the entire TDK roster and meteos. (Why? Because you can.)

However, there are many owners out there where it all comes down to this week. So, now that my dramatic into speech is out of the way, lets get into it one last time shall we?

The important thing to note about Week 9, or the last week in general, Is that the long term ideology no longer exists with roster changes. What do I mean by this? Since its the last week, it all comes down to the match-ups for this week. Im going to list off the Six teams who I think are going to be the most successful heading into week 9. **All you need to do is make sure that with each of you're player slots has a player from one of these six teams. **

(Also, sorry that there isn't a chart this week, I've just really, REALLY been short on time. FORGIVE ME <3 )

SO! Who are my top teams heading into week 9?

  1. FNC. #ObviousDecisionsAreObvious #NotGonnaJinxIt

  2. GV. #ObviousDecisionsAreStillObvious. I will say the TIP game is going to be very interesting. These are the two hottest teams in NA right now, (In my personal opinion). If there was a team to give GV a run for their money, it'd be TIP. But I still think GV is the better team due to their methodical gameplay. I personally see this game being very high kill because it is still TIP, but GV should come out with the W here.

  3. TSM. I know. TSM has been nose-diving hard recently, but this week is primed to be a 2-0 week with them going up against NME and C9. TSM historically puts up explosive numbers in their 2-0 weeks. (Shocker. I know.) But they haven't had a 2-0 week since week 5. This week should be different. Not to mention, C9 is showing more life in their play, and making it easier to score points against. If there is a week to restore your faith in TSM, this will be the week to do it.

  4. CLG. Well, it one thing was clear from CLG last week, they are telling us loud and clear that they "refuse" to pull a classic CLG and rolling over and dying towards the end of the split. And that is what we like to see from CLG heading into week 9 with their given match-ups. They face DIG and T8. T8 put up some BIG numbers last week due to their bloody and sloppy gameplay, and DIG is becoming more of a coin-flip at the moment. You dont know which DIG you're gonna get. CLG in both cases, however, should be able to pick up the wins against these two teams. so with this being the last week, im giving the go ahead for CLG here.

  5. EL. Reminder: this is the last week of the split. And because of it, EL is a great team to have for week 9 for a couple of reasons. The major reason being that they face SK and GMB. Granted, GMB is showing more fight and has had some recent success against these lower-level teams. BUT! EL has been putting up some pretty solid numbers as of late. (30-40 pt weeks. Both of them 1-1 weeks as well). And now they are not only guaranteed another 1-1 week, but are primed to go 2-0 in my opinion. If anything, they just will score points against these two teams. EL has a history of scoring high against lower level teams.

  6. GIANTS. Now, this is one of the more risky options, but the GIANTS vs CW game is too good to be true for fantasy owners. This game alone has carried fantasy owners to victory in the past due to its explosive nature. While I do think the UOL game will be a harder game for GIA, it should still spell out points. Hell, last time these two met, Giants Won! I think Giants are going to end the fantasy season on a potentially VERY HIGH NOTE.

Honorable Mentions and Not So Honorable Mentions

C9. I mentioned above in the TSM slot that C9 is putting up some impressive numbers in the past couple of weeks. And while I do think they will drop the game to TSM, they should have no problem finding success against the punching bag TDK. So if you feel so inclined, you can start a C9 player if you need to! They are my Sleeper pick for this week I guess.

Why no TIP?: "ARE YOU CRAZY NURAL???" Answer: Maybe. Personally as a major TIP fan, this hurts my soul that im Against starting TIP players this week. But TIP is facing the two hardest teams in NA this week (GV and TL). While TIP may be on a hot streak, these two teams can easily end that. There is a possibility TIP could 0-2 this week, which is never a good thing in fantasy... So with one week to go in the split, I think it may be best to Tip our hats to the conductor of the TIP hype train, say thank you for the ride, and hop off. There are much better teams to run this week (Listed above). And remember, this is the last week. Giving up TIP here doesn't matter all that much anymore.

Some Ending Week Tips

  1. If you are in a league where there is a guy who has already clinched 1st place, (Or even last place), Try and see if he is willing to trade you one of his better players. It shouldn't matter to them considering they've already clinched 1st/last. (Unless they are going for a perfect record or they are just an A#%hole.) You can potentially pick up some great players if they are good-hearted, generous people. And if you are one of those people and you are reading this, (Which would surprise me since you have no reason then to read this discussion thread XD ), be a good person and help those who are in need! <3

  2. If you are going to make a trade for a player, try to do it closer to the roster lock in time. If you do drop one of your "historically" stronger players, Cough TIP Cough, no need to give your opponent the potential to pick them up right? You should all know you're league pretty well by now and should have a sense as to how active everyone is with add/drop. Feel it out.

Final Remarks

Just want to thank everyone for the awesome split this season. I am forever thankful for the support you guys gave me, even when I was busy and out of it from time-to-time. Also, shout-out to the all of the members of the fantays community that pitched in with their own analysis and advice! It's always a cool think to see everyone helping out each-other! I hope you all had a kick-ass split and summer. As a reward, here is a song that everyone is worthy of this split.

WARNING!

For those that have heard about it, good, but for those that haven't, TWO PLAYERS have currently been issued bans: GMB's Forgiven (4 game ban for toxicity) and TIP's XiaoWeiXiao (a temporary suspension for investigations involving ELO Boosting). If you have them on your roster, it may be a good idea to get rid of them ASAP!

Hey Nural and all others :)

I have a small question, about setting my team. I need to win this week to become 1st place. According to your week 9 expectations, im in a pretty good position. But im not sure which adc i should take. I've been rotating those last 8 weeks through 3 adc's, (wildturtle, doublelift and also Altec is still open for pickup). So im wondering should i pick up Altec, and if I should, who should I drop.

Help is really really appreciated.

Gotta win this week and hope #1 loses so I can tie! Bunny FuFuu or Kasing? Hauntzer or Soaz? Fenix or Adryh or Tabzz? Amazing or Fr3deric? http://gyazo.com/c8be3967a14716ad84e4fed468339592

Should I start Adryh or Pepi as my flex?

Lengban7/22/2015, 11:19:27 PM1 votes

Mkay, it's my last week and I'm going against one of the two in number one today, so this is more me just trying to prove I can beat one of the top two and tip who wins the league itself, but yeah. I'm wondering just who to start with/for who now.

My Lineup (Alts): His Lineup: Top: Hauntzer (Soaz) Jungle: Santorin Mid: Xpeke (Fenix) ADC: Niels Sup: Yellowstar (Mithy) Flex: Altec Team: Gravity

His LIneup: Top: Huni Jungle: Reignover Mid: Peppinero ADC: Rekkles Sup: Aphromoo Flex: Hjarnan Team: Team Solomid

Potential Trades: Top: Odoamne Jung: Amazing, IWDominate Mid: Pobelter, Keane ADC: Wildturtle, Adryh, Tabzz Sup: Lustboy Team: CLG, Team Liquid, H2K, Origen

This is my current roster for week 9 of my 8-man Fantasy LCS League.

I'm uncertain on Origen players, looking for sugestions. Trades with other players seem unlikely, not a single one over the whole split.

How am i looking for next week? If I win I am guaranteed 1st so just want to get a final/last minute thought if possible to settle my nerves haha!

Edit: This is an older screenshot btw, I do have Adryh starting as my flex not Pepi, AND Liquid as my team over Origen

Heya!

So, the final week. It all boils down to this. Warning: Wall of text incoming.

Matchup 1:

I'm against the number 1 in our League. Win or lose, I'm gonna be stuck in 5th place out of 6. That much is pretty set in stone barring a very specific series of events that are very unlikely to happen. I'm just hoping to minimize damage at this point (and XwX being suspended means my main pointmaker is gone, replaced by Froggen or Ryu. Go figure).

I went for Tabzz to replace Vardags, and although I do want to believe in Adryh, I'm considering flexing Froggen instead. I could just use all three (ADC and Mid Tabzz/Froggen, Flex Adryh) by dropping Ryu, although I'm somewhat willing to gamble on him. KaSing has been with me since the beginning, so I'm not about to drop him now! xD

Finally, I opted for Dyrus/Xmithie instead of Impact/Rush this time around (mostly because of XwX's suspension).

Any potential changes to my final roster? :D

Matchup 2:

Not a lot of options I can move around with. I'm fighting for second place (hopefully). Again, I'm staying faithful to KaSing.

Other than Helios, I can't really think of any other jungler I can use, Svenskeren notwithstanding (the only ones available are Frederic (GIA), Dexter (EL), Hai (C9), Porpoise8 (T8), Diamondprox (GMB), Kez (TDK) and Shook (CW), with the best options being Frederic and Dexter).

I could start Pepi over Fenix, though Fenix has been super consistent lately. What do you think I should do?

WhaleBeaters7/23/2015, 3:34:04 PM1 votes

I was going to say that even with TiP's rough schedule, Rush has shown very consistent scores over the split, but now I see all that XwX has been suspended (for elo boosting? correct me if I'm wrong). Even with that, I would still argue that Rush will perform decently if you're that desperate to start Rush. Personally though, I dropped Rush and Apollo and started as many TL and GV players as I had so my current roster is: Top: Odoamne Jungle: Frederic Mid: Fenix ADC: Piglet Support: BunnyFuFuu Flex: Bjergerking Team: TL

any last minute critiques would be greatly appreciated ^.^

Quick question at the last minute: Should I pick Sneaky or Corejj ? If I win this week, ill be getting 1st place :)

Axis the Dragon7/24/2015, 7:40:11 PM1 votes

Noooooo, EL lost. It didn't help that SK looked pretty solid this game, but I feel like most of the blame is just on EL misplaying everything. I'm sad. Tabzz gave me a decent 38 but I was seriously considering starting CandyPanda instead, who got 45+.

Hindsight is 20/20, I suppose.

On the flipside, Froggen didn't do as well as I expected (only 1 more point than Ryu) so overall that was such a bad call to leave him out. Still, I may have been overzealous in switching 75% of my roster...

TimpaniMaster7/24/2015, 9:50:47 PM1 votes

Freaking out over close this will be, worried who to put in Flex >< It's been a fun summer, but this game will decide if I get 1st place haha. NA LCS starts in less than 22 hours, hoping for some opinions. I'm the one on top :)

Longshot10567/22/2015, 5:50:16 AM1 votes

So this is my first time coming to someone and asking like this but I was wondering if I should hold onto Lustboy for this week or to put him on the bench and try and snatch up Gate the moment he becomes available. I know TSM could have a 2-0 week, but as a C9 fan and having watched how both C9 and TSM have been playing these past two weeks my money is on C9 winning. TIP may not go 2-0 this week, in fact they may end up going 0-2, but the wy they play leads to a lot more action and with such tough opponents I can't help but feel like they're going to be high scoring again.

Now I won't lie I personally just want to win this week due to wanting to go out with some form of high note, I got screwed in draft with last pick of an 8 person group and chose poorly with what I had, since I'm second to last only beating someone who hasn't been playing since week 2. However if I do win I could decide who takes first place, and me winning would possibly get a friend of mine for many years into first.

Overall my roster is:

Top: Impact (Steve on the bench) Jungle: Hai (Loulex on the bench but I have not been impressed by H2K for the past few weeks) Mid: Ninja/Froggen ADC: Vardags (Otter on the bench) Support: Lustboy Flex: Ninja/Froggen Team: FNC

Opponent:

Top: Vizicsacsi Jungle: Rush Mid: Pobelter ADC: Piglet Support: Mithy Flex: Bunnyfufu Team: TSM Bench: Keith, Incarnation, Gamsu

On the table to pick up:

Top: Cabochard otherwise I wouldn't take any of the others Jungle: Trashy, Fr3deric, Jankos, Gilius Mid: Pepii, Fox, Innox, Betsy ADC: Adryh, Tabzz, MrRallez, Nien, CandyPanda Support: nRated (and Gate when they finally add him)

Thanks for any help!

Well this is depressing

I swapped out pretty much my entire TIP roster to go for a gamble on Xmithie and Dyrus

I really should've known better >> CLG and TSM are much more objective-based than TIP, who are all about raw aggression

Those points lost are really being felt right now

Edit: A very, very random triple kill from Dyrus makes it less painful to take. I'm still salty though.
